"This is it! The official rendezvous point for the invasion force." Sokka looks up from his map to take in the opening around us. It was a good space, plenty of room for training and a camp.

"How did you pick this place?" Toph speaks from behind us, not much interested in looking around.

"Before we spit up, my dad and I found this island on the map. It's uninhabited, and the harbours surrounded by the cliffs seemed like the perfect secluded place."

Katara nods approvingly, "Nice choice, Sokka. And we're here four days ahead of schedule."

Aang's head whips around at that, "Wait! Four days? The invasion's in four days?" Aang's not the only one who's anxiety spikes at that, in four days I will face the place that caused my suffering for spirits knows how long.

Sokka yawns, lowering himself to the floor, "Whatever. That's like four days from now. Let's just calm down and-" He is cut off by his own snore, dropping asleep as easy as blowing out a light.

"Sokka's got the right idea, Aang. We're here. We're ready. The best thing we can do now is get plenty of rest." Katara lies down, preparing for sleep.

Aang follows suit, however half-heartedly, "I guess."

I lie down beside Sokka, though I don't see sleep in my near future. I find myself simply staring at the stars for a long time, imagining the fire that burns through all of them. The fire that burns through me.

I don't get much sleep that night.

I am awoken in the early hours by a strange thumping noise, I lift my head glancing around, Aang stands not too far from where the rest of us are sleeping, punching a tree repeatedly. I glance over to Katara who shrugs her shoulders, she stands and approaches the boy.

"Hey, how long have you been up?"

Aang doesn't even look at the girl, "A couple hours. I got a lot more skills to refine if I'm going to fight Ozai." The boy stops briefly, panting.

"You know, there is such thing as over-training."

Aang hits the tree one last time, sending a vibration through his entire body, pushing him off balance leaving him falling backwards, the leaves of the tree burying him. Aang, however, just springs back to his feet, pacing around Katara in a fighting stance. "You don't get it, do you? My form is bad, I'm sloppy, and I still don't know any firebending. Not even the basics."

Sokka shrugs, "That's okay, Aang. The eclipse will block off firebending anyway. You don't need to know it. Plus, it's a stupid element."

A second after the words leave his mouth he seems to have realised what he said and looks to me with slightly wide eyes. I chuckle to myself before feigning offence, pushing my lips into a thin line and shaking my head, arms crossed. Sokka chuckles silently.
