"I know you're nervous, but remember-" Zuko cuts off as he sees me turn the corner and confused Aang glances over his shoulder to see what caused the boy to stop.

Hesitantly, I wave a hand in greeting as I approach the two on the balcony, "Hey, er, I thought maybe I could join..."

Aang turns to Zuko, "Tenshi is a firebender too."

Zuko nods, probably already aware of this information at the very least from his time working along side his sister to find Aang, "That's fine, er, you can join."

I nod in thanks and Zuko attempts to regain his train of thought, he clears his throat, "Remember, firebending in of itself is not something to fire."

Aang nods, "Okay. Not something to fear."

"But if you don't respect it, it'll chew you up and spit you out like an angry komodo rhino!" Zuko's voice becomes intense causing Aang to practically yelp in fear. His voice is calmer when he speaks again, "Now show me what you've got. Any amount of fire you can make."

Aang looks at me uncertainly so just as uncertainly I step forward first. Not daring risking hurting anyone I decide against any of the moves Sokka had been encouraging me to learn. Instead, I cup my hands together, taking a deep breath, a small flame ignites violently in my palms, it flicks aggressively and just as quickly I shake my hands out and the flame burns out only leaving behind a small warmth in the air.

I nod to Aang, he inhales nervously, cupping his hands together accept this time all that comes up is a puff of smoke. Aang smiles meekly, "Maybe I need a little more instruction. Perhaps a demonstration?"

"Good idea. You might wanna take a couple steps back."

I follow Aang a few steps away and watch as Zuko slips into a fighting stance. He inhales deeply before sharply punching the air only for a small flame to flash quickly before disappearing. Aang applauds and hesitantly, I join him.

"What was that? That was the worst firebending I've ever seen!"

Aang smiles and shrugs, "I thought it was... nice."

Zuko shakes it off, grunting as he tries to bend again but he makes no improvement. Not after three more attempts either. He looks down at his palms, confused, "Why is this happening?"

Aang scratches his head, "Maybe it's the altitude."

"Yeah, could be."

Silently, I follow the boys as we find somewhere else where the 'altitude is better' only for Zuko to have no improvement. Aang sits up from his laid back position after another failed attempt from Zuko, "That one kind of felt hot."
