"What's out here?" Sokka asks as we watch Aang sit on the dehydrated ground below us.
"A lot, actually, there's hundreds of little-" Toph starts as she crouches down and feels the ground.
Aang turns to face us behind him, "Shh! I know you can see underground, but don't ruin the surprise." Aang tells the girl, "Just watch." He then starts to play the flute he had been holding in his hand. He plays a note and not long after a groundhog-like creature appears and repeats the note. "Haha! Yeah!" He repeats the process and watches as another of the creature pops up through a hole in the ground and copies the sound, "I'm putting an orchestra together."
"Orchestra, huh? Well... la diih daah," Sokka says. Then three of the creatures pop up and copy him. At the annoyed look on the boy's face, I chuckle to myself.
Aang then continues to play notes and continues to watch as the creatures copy him, with Momo jumping from hole to hole trying to catch one. Suddenly Sokka runs forwards and puts his finger to the end of Aang's flute so that no tune is played.
"This is great and all but don't we have more important things to worry about? We should be making plans." Sokka exclaims.
"We did make plans. We're all picking mini-holidays." Toph tells the boy
Sokka looks between us all, "There's no time for holidays."
Though I agree with Sokka I don't see what else we could be doing, apart from training, "I'm learning the elements as fast as I can." Aang tells the boy in front of him, "I practice hard every day with Toph and Katara. I've been training my arrow off."
"Yeah. What's wrong with having a little fun in our downtime?" Katara steps in.
Sokka crosses his arms, "Even if you do master all of the elements then what? It's not like we have a map of the fire nation." The boy points out whilst gesturing wildly. "Should we just head west until we reach the fire lord's house?"
"Tenshi used to work for the fire nation as the Dual Dragon, right?" Katara asks turning to me, "Couldn't you tell us about them?" I wince slightly, a part of me regrets telling them what I remember or see in my sleep. It's harder every time. I know I have to though and they always seem to take it... well? Maybe not "well" but they don't chase me away so I'll take it.
I look at her strangely before crossing my arms, "I would not like to base this very important plan off of my memory which we should all know by now isn't exactly great."
"Exactly, we need some real intelligence if we are going to win this war."
Instead of answering Aang goes back to playing his flute with his new orchestra, making Katara giggle, "All right. We'll finish our holidays and then look for Sokka's intelligence." Katara tells us making Aang laugh into his hand and a smile grow on my face.
