We follow Zuko through the dingy tavern, up to June's side. Eventually, the woman looks up, glancing unimpressed as the boy, "Oh great. It's Prince Pouty. Where's your creepy grandpa?"

"He's my Uncle and he's not here."

June glances between Zuko and Katara, "I see you worked things out with your girlfriend."

Katara's face pinches in disgust and Zuko looks flustered as he glances at the girl then back to June. They both respond at the same time.

"I'm not his girlfriend!" "She's not my girlfriend!"

June throws her hands up in a show of innocence, "Okay, okay, sheesh. I was only teasing. So what do you want?"

"I need your help finding the Avatar."

The girl frowns, "Hm. Doesn't sound too fun."

Zuko's frustration gets the better of him, he leans in, fists clenched, "Does the end of the world sound like more fun?"

"Nyla." June chucks a piece of meet to the shirshu, who catches it deftly, jaw snaping down around it. The girl strokes her mount on her snout, "Who's my little, Snuffly-Wuffly?" June then turns back to us like nothing out of the ordinary happened, "Okay. So who's got something with the Avatar's scent on it?"

Katara quickly pulls Aang's glider from Appa's saddle, "I have Aang's staff."

Nyla sniffs at the glider, then around at the air, trying to pick out a scent. She goes round and round for a moment before begining to whine, she buries her snout against the ground, covering it with her paws.

A pit of dread is starting to build in my stomach as we watch the creature struggle. Zuko frowns in confusion, "Well, what does that mean?"

"Means your friend's gone." June's voice is slightly softer than before, she's attempting to sooth Nyla but her tone sounds like she's attempting to sooth us as well. The dread builds.

"We know he's gone. That's why we're trying to find him," says Toph.

June stands to face us, "No, I mean he's gone gone. He doesn't exist."

My eyes widen and my stomach starts to churn, I turn to Sokka in distress, the boy holds my hand but looks to June when he speaks, "What do you mean Aang doesn't exist? Do you mean he's... dead?"

June just shakes her head casually, "Nope. We could find him if he were dead. It's a real head-scratcher," then she simply turns away, taking Nyla with her, "See ya."

Toph raises an eyebrow, "Helpful. Real helpful."

"Wait. I have another idea." My gaze flicks back to Zuko as he calls out June, then he glances at us, "There's only one other person in this world who can help us face the Fire Lord. I'll be right back with a smell sample."
