3rd person's pov
"Damn it," A middle-aged man in an overgrown lab coat exclaimed, he put his finger in his mouth as he tried to fix the broken machine in front of him. He brushed back strands of his brown, wavy hair and tucked them behind his ear. His silver eyes were trained on the machine's mechanisms, curling his lips slightly as he was completely focused on the task he wanted to carry out. Outside, the weather had become a lot more dreary, and more rain clouds were starting to roll in. "Come on," He muttered a few more curse words as he repaired a fried wire, which had been the reason the machine broke in the first place. He concentrated harder, managing to connect the ends and fix the exposed wiring, and the machine sparked. The man let out a yelp, jumping back to avoid being shocked as his machine lit up a bright blue color and electricity started to fly. He watched as the machine glowed brightly, humming softly as the center started to spark with blue electricity. He laughed to himself, rushing to the large pull handle, yanking it downwards. He silently prayed that his machine would work, hoping that what he wanted to bring back was going to appear. As the machine crackled, a figure appeared in the middle of it and stood tall. As the smoke and light dimmed, the man chuckled to himself as he saw who was standing before him.
"Perfect," He walked over to the figure, the young man's hair had only become slightly longer, and his blue eyes were trained on the figure in front of him. "Ah, haha! This is perfect!! I didn't expect you to actually come back!" The man exclaimed, sounding excited. The young man looked around, stepping out from the middle of the machine's platform, wondering where he was. He took in the smell of the room that he was standing in, raising an eyebrow when he saw a clutter of broken-down, unpowered machines sprawled in the corner. "Ah ha!! Now, I can finally get my revenge on that idiot who ruined my life."
"Who the hell are you?" The young man stared at the scientist in front of him.
"My name is Horatio. General Horatio." The man replied. "I'm proud to say that I've been able to bring back one of Dr. Gero's finest creations." Horatio smiled.
"You knew Dr. Gero?"
"Yes, I did. He was a long time friend until that blasted Goku and his friends played a role in his demise." Horatio sneered.
"Wow, you must be really angry with Goku if you brought me back."
"I despise that man. And the two kids that showed up from the future. They all got him killed."
"Would you believe me if I said they weren't the ones that killed him?"
"Then who killed Dr. Gero?"
"Take a guess."
"No! It cannot be! He built you! How could you do such a thing?!" Horatio questioned, looking angry and shocked. "He didn't build me. He kidnapped my sister and I. Then implanted us with mechanical parts. I wouldn't call what he did brilliant. And if you believe it as such, then maybe you shouldn't have brought me back." Horatio was caught off guard when the young man suddenly spun around and kicked him in the face, knocking him unconscious. The young man chuckled to himself and took off, searching for the one saiyan he had missed bothering.

Future Tsubaki and Future Trunks were on an outing with their families. It had been a while since they were able to relax. They had gone to Bulma's private beach and later would be going trick-or-treating with the kids, who each picked out a really good costume. At the present moment, the kids were playing a rough game of volleyball, which Krillen joined. Future Chi-chi, Chi-chi, and Bulma were all concerned with how the game would go, knowing that their kids were the competitive type, but they were glad they were having fun. Krillen served the ball for the first turn, his team including Goten, Kid Tsubaki, and Kid Trunks. The other team consisted of Future Trunks and Tsubaki, Gohan, and Goku. When the ball came over the net, Gohan was the first one to hit it. The ball flew over the net fast, but was returned just as quickly by Goten, who had basically spiked the ball. Goku dodged the fastball, "Whoa! Goten, you could have taken my head off with that thing!" Goku looked at his son, "Sorry, Dad." Gotten apologized, he scratched the back of his head and laughed nervously. They continued the game, which only seemed to become more and more chaotic by the minute, balls were spiked over the net and nearly smacking into someone's face. Krillen soon realized why 18 didn't want him to play volleyball with the kids. "You guys play so rough... No wonder Piccolo didn't want to join when you asked him." Krillen rubbed the back of his head, he yelped when a spiked ball came his way.
"Oh come on, Krillen!! You were supposed to hit the ball! Now they have another point!" Kid Tsubaki yelled.
"I'm sorry!" Krillen held up his hands in surrender, Kid Tsubaki just huffed and turned her attention to Kid Trunks, who was currently serving. While the kids were playing, Vegeta decided to get in the water and just float. 18 put floaties on Marron's arms and waist, taking her into the water. Everyone was having a lot of fun, but only one person seemed to notice that something was off. Piccolo sensed a strange energy in the air; it troubled him because the energy he sensed didn't make sense. He didn't want to alarm anyone because he wasn't sure what to make of what he was sensing. "Come join us, Piccolo!" Kid Tsubaki shouted, waving her hand toward him. Piccolo sighed, shaking off the weird feeling and decided to join in on the game but he wasn't going to forget what he felt.
