"Heeey...!"
Wu said awkwardly, giving Shenhe a small wave.
"Wu, you're back!" Shenhe said. In a flicker of movement, she was right in front of him, a smile on her face. "I didn't think we would meet again so soon...!" She said.
"Uh-great to see you too, but-" Wu winced as his rub began to act up. "I'm sort of in the middle of-" Wu stuttered out.
"Oh... Are you busy...?" She asked. "I could help you." She offered.
"Not really something you could help me with..." Wu muttered. He turned to the door of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, feeling Zhongli's ki just inside the lobby.
...
"Nevermind, it's not important..." Wu sighed. "How are you?" Wu asked.
"I've been well... I was just going to grab a snack. Would you like to join me?" Shenhe asked.
"S-Sure...!" Wu smiled. A good bit of Teyvat food would be enough to heal a fractured rib.
"I'll get you next time, motherfucker...!" Wu thought to himself, holding a smile as his soul burned with malice for Zhongli.
----------
Son Wu sat down with Shenhe, wolfing down a whole roast suckling pig, his teeth punching through the crispy, flaky, glazed skin of the tender pork as he chewed mouthful after mouthful. Shenhe sat across from him, blowing on a portion of roast duck, the dark-sauce glazed skin shimmering in the orange light of the restaurant. Her teeth tenderly bit down on the portion of duck, taking it in her lips and chewing it slowly, before swallowing.
"How is it?" Wu asked.
"It's delicious..." Shenhe said. "It is a shame that I can't savor more of this..." Shenhe said, placing the rest of the portion down and slowly pushing the plate away.
"Wait, what?" Wu asked.
"As per my master's instruction, I am only allowed to savor a single bite of mortal cuisine per meal. As a practice of temperance." Shenhe said.
...
"That's really stupid." Wu said.
"You think so?" Shenhe asked.
"The cooks probably put a lot of effort into that food... I get where Cloud Retainer's coming from, but I feel like these kinds of meals deserve more respect than that..." Wu said.
...
"Very well... I will take two bites instead." Shenhe said, taking a second bite. "For the sake of the chefs, perhaps you can finish the rest..." She said.
"Now that is something I can get behind!" Wu smiled, snatching up the plate and digging in.
----------
Shenhe proceeded to take Wu on a walk down the packed streets of Liyue, purchasing multiple dishes from a variety of restaurants, enjoying a single bite, or two, while leaving the rest to Wu.
"Your appetite is as impressive as ever, Wu..." Shenhe said, smiling fondly.
"Heheh... Some things never change..." Wu smiled back. "If I knew I could score this many free meals, I would have stayed in Liyue." Wu said. "This is good, my rib is finally starting to heal..." Wu thought.
"You're funny..."
DWSH!!!
Shenhe smiled, slamming her elbow into Wu's side, exactly where his injured rib was.
"AAAAAGH!!!" Wu screamed internally, his pupils shaking.
Wu craned forward, clutching his side as he let out a hoarse choking sound.
