I stood at the glass looking down on the city and tried to stop my hand from shaking.

It wouldn't.

My fingers twitched again, harder this time, and I had to grab my own wrist just to force it still. The feeling underneath my skin would not settle. It crawled. Gnawed. Rose slow and ugly from somewhere deep down where fear and rage had started to blur into the same thing.

No one else in the tower had tried to speak to me.

Not Hiro.

Not Jubilee.

Not Mina.

Not Psylocke.

Smart.

Because whatever was hanging in the air around me, even I could feel it.

I stared out at the lights below and kept seeing the same scene over and over.

The front door.

Uncle Ben opening it.

That shape outside.

The pumpkin bomb.

The flash.

The explosion.

The screaming.

Again.

Again.

Again.

My breathing got sharper. My teeth clenched. I could feel the suit under my skin, not speaking, not moving, just feeding on it. On every ugly little thought I kept trying not to have.

The one villain who got away.

The one.

If the Green Goblin was back, then this was it.

This was my chance.

My chance to finally do something about it.

My chance to get justice for Uncle Ben.

I punched the wall.

Concrete cracked.

The sound snapped through the room like a gunshot, but it didn't help. Didn't ease it. Didn't quiet anything down. I rested my forehead against the glass for half a second and forced myself to breathe.

"In," I muttered. "Out. In. Out."

The suit thrilled under my skin.

The feeling got worse.

The door opened behind me.

I spun around fast enough that the city blurred in the glass.

Hawkeye stood there, one arm in a sling, shoulder heavily bandaged beneath a fresh jacket, bruises still dark across his face. He looked steadier than he had on the street, but not by much.

He took one look at me and knew exactly what room he'd walked into.

"Thanks for sticking around," he said carefully. "I'm sure you've got questions."

I crossed the room in a blink.

My hand locked around his throat and drove him back into the wall hard enough to rattle the light fixtures.

His good hand shot to my wrist, but he didn't strike back.

"Did you know?" I hissed.

Hawkeye's back hit the wall with a grunt.

"Parker"

"Did you know?" I shouted, lifting him a little higher. "Did you know about the Green Goblin?"
