    Onika was coming for the weekend the kids were excited and so was I. I kept trying to tell myself it was just a weekend but it wasnt. It was the chance to finally save my family. 
    When she walked in, everything felt normal again. Like New York disappeared. Like the tension disappeared. Like the last few months never happened.
    G: MOMMY!!
    S: MOM YOURE HERE!!
    The twins ran over damn near knocking onika down. 
    O: hii babies! Why are you getting so tall I just saw you last week??
    They laughed. The older three were hesitant like me. Onika walked over to the living room where they were, just staring at her.
    O: you guys are too grown to give me a hug now??
    Their smiles returned getting up to hug onika too, they were probably nervous if our separation meant she wasnt their step mom anymore. But it didnt. 
    O: how are you guys? you're getting so big I could cry
    S: mom no one wants to see you cry
    O: boy hush! 
    Ka: we're good, we're about to graduate soon
    O: i knowww
    Kh: are you coming?
    O: of course I am, how about you miss blue? you doing alright? 
    Bl: yeah I got braces
    Onika gasped going over to her.
    O: aww theyre so cute and theyre blue like you!
    She faked teared up, blue tilted her head.
    Bl: Do not 
    Onika laughed then she paused turning to me.
    O: hey bey 
    I smiled slightly. 
    B: hey 
    She smiled back and we just looked at each other for a moment. Until my needy ass kids came interrupting!
    S: mom can we eat today
    B: YOU EAT EVERYDAY STOP
    Onika chuckled. Nice to see she's in a good mood, here's my chance! 
    B: we could go out for dinner?
    Bl: JASPERS!
    Kh: your hungry ass couldnt wait for somebody to mention food
    Bl: shut up youre a father! 
    B: blue...
    Kalani laughed. 
    Kh: OH MY GODDDD WE KNOW DAMN
    Khalil walked off slightly irritated.
    O: wait huh?
    B: I'll tell you over dinner
    O: okay 
    G: are we going to eat now??
    O: well let me put my stuff down first baby, what room can I stay in? 
    She turned to me.
    B: mines?
    O: bey...
    B: onika come on
    I pulled her to my room, she didnt protest.
