Nadia:

After work, Maria and I came to my dad's place instead of going back to my place because I needed to talk to him.

I planned to talk to him after dinner, and Maria had every intention of joining me if it wasn't for her accidentally falling asleep. The poor thing has been really stressed and working a lot lately because she decided to take up responsibilities that were beyond her bandwidth.

"You know, growing up, I hated The Yardbirds and Jeff Beck." I smiled at Dad. "I even planned to get rid of your records when I was 13 because you just played them constantly."

"You little piece of shit." He laughed, shaking his head.

I laughed and took a sip from the glass of whiskey he poured me. He went with Vodka as usual. It reminded me of how, as a kid, I used to sneak into his collection and steal a few sips. Those few sips increased a lot when I hit my teenage years, and especially when Axl was around. Now my relationship with my dad has transformed to the point where he'd pour me a drink, and we could be drinking buddies.

I closed my eyes to tune out all the noises from the surroundings and really focus on the melody that came from the record player.

"Ooh!!!" I whistled, "He's so good. I mean, his range is insane. There's the sweet melodies and the really mean licks."

"I told you." He shook his head with a smug expression. "Hendrix called him the greatest player ever. That's good enough for me."

"Yeah, I have been listening to more of his stuff lately... He's really innovative. Just listening to some of them makes me want to pick up a guitar and figure out every tiny detail."

"See, that's the thing! He wasn't just playing the guitar." He took a sip. "He was one of the first players to consider the amp and the guitar as one."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, he began using feedback a lot earlier." He said, "I mean, beyond all that. He has the attitude."

"That he does." I chuckled.

He smiled and continued to listen in silence when Blue Wind came to an end, and Sophie began to play.

I think now's the time, and I wasn't nervous. Oddly enough, I think it had to do with having had this talk with three other people already. That doesn't mean I wasn't worried about Evie's reaction.

The disappointment in her eyes... God!

"I need to tell you something," I said.

His eyes opened, and he stared with confusion in his eyes and sat upright. He knew it was something important. This is how we've had multiple important conversations in the past.

"You pregnant?"

"Nope," I shook my head. "Is that your first guess? Really?"

He shrugged, "Could happen. You're quitting your job?"

"I love my job." I sighed with annoyance.

He always wants me to quit my job! He has this feeling that I made a mistake choosing this career over music and would someday realize he's right.

"Okay, then what is it?" He asked calmly and took another sip.

His suggestion has upset me, but it's... Forget it. Just tell him and get it over with.

"I'm seeing someone," I said.

"Okay," He smiled a little and raised an eyebrow, "Serious enough to tell me, huh?"

"Yeah. It's pretty serious." I nodded and bit the inside of my cheek.

"What's his name? What does he do?"
