Wanting to be loved (Zuko)

I was sleeping when suddenly Momo jumped on top of me. I sat up and saw everyone was awake seems like Aang had another nightmare. Katara asked if he wanted to talk about it but he said that he just needed some rest and we went back to sleep. If he wanted to talk about it he would come to us himself.

The next morning we were packing and making everything ready to leave. I already cleaned up my things so now I was watching the waves, we slept on a beach this time. It was nice to be so close to so much water again. Katara said that we needed to find a market soon because we ran out of food. Sokka told us that he dreamed about this and the food eat us and Momo could talk. I sighed and climbed on Appa, my knee was doing much better and it didn't hurt that much anymore.

We were at a fruit stand and Katara couldn't decide is the fruit was good or not but then realized that we were out of money 'Ow man I was looking forward to some apple's' I complained. We heard a couple of old people talking and the woman said there was a storm coming but the man didn't believe her and said she was crazy. The man said he could find someone else to do her job and Sokka offered to help. When he was putting things on the old man's ship clouds began to come and the wind started to pick up. Katara said it wasn't a good idea to go off shore but Sokka said he promised the man to help him and some bad weather wouldn't hold him back. Suddenly the man realized that Aang is the Avatar and began making comments on it and Katara stood up for him but Aang flew away 'Katara come on let's follow him' I said when I walked to Appa an climbed on him 'Yip-yip' I said and we followed Aang. It started to rain heavily and by the time we found Aang we were drenched. He sat in a cave 'Do you want to talk about it?' Katara asked 'It's kind of a long story' Aang said 'Then I will look for something to start a fire so we can get dry' I said and then Appa and Momo came inside. I searched for some braches and rocks.

When the fire was on we sat around it. Then Aang began his story of when the monks told him he is the Avatar. It seems like the monks told Aang way too early of him being the Avatar they should have waited until he was sixteen at an age he could handle it. When he heard they wanted to send him away he freaked out and I could understand it. He was only twelve years old. But then running away wasn't the best idea he had. 'I think it was meant to be this way' Katara tried reassuring him 'You don't know that! I could've helped my people and the world but I ran!' Aang said angry 'I believe that everything happens for a reason and you can't change what is going to happen and that what happened already. All you can do is make the best of the situation you are in' I said quietly. I never really spoke my mind about these things but I guess it's what Aang needed to hear. 'I mean I can keep questioning why my parents didn't want me and dropped me at the South Pole but then I will stay stuck in the past that I cannot change. Now I think that it was meant to help you find your way, because if I wasn't on the South Pole I would've never met you and I wouldn't be here sitting in a cave with you and Katara while Sokka is out at sea in this weather' I said with a little smile without looking up. I didn't like talking about myself and about my parents abandoning me back at home everyone knew and no one would talk about it.

'I never knew that' Aang said with a sad voice 'You couldn't have known because I never talk about it.' And I looked at him 'You're going to be just fine Aang but you have to let go of the past because it will hold you back at some point' I said and he scooted over to me 'I did notice you don't really like hugs but just this once' and he gave me an hug and I only smiled. Then the old lady was at the cave opening asking for help. Her husband and Sokka were not back yet and the storm is turning into a typhoon. Aang, Katara and I got Appa ready and took off while the old lady stayed in the cave. We were looking but couldn't find them and the rain and wind held Appa back so he couldn't fly higher than a big wave came and Aang froze for a second but he regained himself and made a hole in the wave.

We got higher and that's when I noticed the ship but not the one from the fisherman but Zuko's and it seemed it was hit by lightning. Aang pointed to the ship of the fisherman and directed Appa to it. Aang got onboard and tied a rope around Sokka and the old man and drew them up on Appa. Then another big wave came with the boat and we got pulled down into the ocean. Everyone lost consciousness but I tried hard not to and then saw Aang go into Avatar state and got into an airball. We came out of the water next to Zuko's ship and somehow pain shot through my knee and I let go off Appa's saddle and I fell off not far from Zuko's ship. I saw Aang looking down in terror 'Go Aang or he will get you! Now get away!' I yelled when I saw he wanted to come to me. He gave me an apologetic look and then flew away.
