The wedding day was getting closer and closer and with each day my nerves got worse. I really want to marry Zuko but it's something so final. You are bound to this person for the rest of your life and you spent each day together. You grow old together and raise your children and see them grow older and have families of their own.

And then I haven't started on being the Fire Princess and the responsibilities it would bring. The both of us had to show the rest of the world that the Fire Nation can change and they can do good.

From the beginning of the journey I said that after the war I wanted to go and look for my parents and find out if they are still alive but now I'm planning a wedding and try to fit in my new life here and I'm not out there looking for them. I sigh and stare at the clouds.

I was in the palace gardens while Zuko was doing some things he has to do as the new Fire Lord. I wasn't allowed to help him with it because I wasn't married to him, yet. I stand up and walk over to the pond I pick up my dress that I'm forced to wear every day because I'm a princess now, and step in the pond to calm me.

The palace lays in the middle of the capital and because of that there isn't that much water around us. For my own safety I'm not allowed to go outside the palace walls. Some Fire Nation citizens aren't so happy with the defeat of Ozai because they still believe they are the best.

And of course they don't want the new Fire Lord, Zuko, to marry a girl from the Water Tribe whose father is a disappointment to the Fire Nation. I step out of the pond and onto the grass again where I sit down. Zuko promised me he would hire some people who can remodel the garden so there is more water for me so I can practice and calm down but I have to wait until after the wedding.

I think it is sweet he thinks about me and that I feel at home in the palace and this foreign country. Tomorrow Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki, Toph, Iroh, Gran-gran and my grandfather arrive for the wedding. They decided to come a day sooner and help me and Zuko with the final touches.

I touch my new necklace and think about the time Zuko gave it to me. He made me an betrothal necklace like the men from the Water Tribe make for their fiancée. He asked Sokka and Katara about it and they helped him make it when we were in Ba Sing Se.

He wanted to respect my Water Tribe traditions and I was ecstatic when he handed to me yesterday because I didn't expect it. Now I have an necklace and a ring, like how they do it in the Fire Nation.

My grandfather will bring me to the altar instead of my father and I was glad that someone from my family could do it and if he couldn't do it I would have asked Aang to do it because he is kind of my family since he was supposed to be my past life.

When we were in Ba Sing Se I explained Aang about our bond. He was shocked when I told him that if Katara and Sokka wouldn't have found him that time but a few months later he would have died there and I would've have been the Avatar on my sixteenth birthday. He was glad that we now both understood what happened with us. We stayed quiet for a while and then decided to go back to the others.

I walked back into the castle and went to look for Zuko. I found him in a hallway and was glad that I could always find him wherever he was because I still got lost in this big palace. He was talking to one of his advisers and I carefully walked up to them because I wasn't sure if I could hear what they were talking about.

Then the adviser noticed me and told Zuko he looked up and said something to the adviser he then walked away and Zuko walked to me with a big smile and gave me a big hug. ''I missed you. It's so annoying that you can't join me with the meetings'' he said still holding me. ''Still two more days to go and I can join you'' I whispered.

''I know then I'm going to force you to do the boring stuff too'' he laughed and let me go. We walked with our hands entwined to the dining hall were our food was served. The first time we got our food at the palace it was way too much for us and I asked one of the maids what they did with the food that was left over and she told me they throw it away.

I was shocked because there are so many villages that don't have any food at all so I discussed it with Zuko and now the amount of food we received was far less and we sent food to villages that need it the most. Zuko looked very happy when I told him this plan and he told me that I would be an very good princess for this nation.

I was glad to hear this because I was really scared to take this role upon me not knowing what to do. But Zuko reassured me he would help me with my tasks.
