Wanting to be loved (Zuko)

54.

'Of course he wants that. I think he still has a vision of babies in his head' Zuko sighs. I laugh 'I think your right. But it would be nice to know what we are to each other' I say as I walk over to the well and lean against it.

Zuko stands next to me 'Well how do we begin?' he asks uncomfortable 'I don't really know. I've never had a boyfriend so I don't know how this works. Did you ever had a girlfriend?' I wonder and see him look away. 'I take that as a yes. But I don't mind' I reassure him.

'Uhm that's not the reason. I thought you had a boyfriend before we... you know... uhm... did things' he managed to bring out. And it takes a second for me to process what he means but then I get it. 'Ohh, ow, uhm, I get what you mean and I never was with someone before you' I say embarrassed. 

Then both of us didn't say anything for a while. 'Okay now that is out of the way let's not talk about it anymore' I try to convince Zuko 'I guess I can try' he smiles. 'It's just hard. I never imagined I could care for someone besides being friends' I sigh 'What?! You mean you like like me and not just as friends?!' Zuko asks surprised 'Yeah I guess so' I admit. 'Then everything is solved I think' he says with a big smile 'What do you mean, I don't get it' I questioned.

He stands in front of me and puts his hands on either side of me so I can't go anywhere. 'I mean, you like me and I like you. I guess we can call it a real relationship then' he whispers in my ear and shiver from the feeling of his breath against my neck and from Zuko admitting he likes me.

 No one ever liked me in a romantic kind of way. Zuko leans back and I see his eyes going from my eyes to my lips and I do the same. I grab his shirt and pull him to me and put my lips on his. He immediately reacts by putting his hands around my waist. I put my arms around his neck and deepen the kiss. We kiss for a while and then finally release our lips but our bodies stay close to each other.

'So your my first boyfriend then' I smile at him 'I guess I am' 'The people back at home must be thrilled to hear I have the same taste in men as my mother' I joke 'I think they will be ecstatic but I really can't wait for you to meet my father I think he will be so glad my girlfriend is a water bender and a friend of the Avatar and not to forget the daughter of a man that abandoned his post to run off with a water bender' he jokes.

'Ow I totally forgot I guess I will be the ideal daughter in law' I laughed and Zuko laughed with me. We continued to laugh about it on our way back home. And when we walked in Iroh gave us a weird look so we explained that I am the best daughter in law the Fire Lord could wish for and Iroh joined us in our laughing. After we were finally done with laughing we went to bed and as usual Zuko laid behind me holding my waist.

I'm really glad we now know what we mean to each other. Still I can't tell my friends when I see them again.The next morning I wake up early and prepare breakfast for us and then wake Zuko and Iroh. After we eat our breakfast we went to the tea shop and began our day of work.

At first I thought it was a boring thing to do but when the regular customers come you have a little talk with them about what they were up to this day and how everything is going. There is this old man that comes every day and he only wants to be served by me and he always asks for little waterbending tricks with his tea.

After I have done that he drinks it up and says that it makes the tea taste even better than it already does thanks to Irohs tea brewing skills. Iroh is so happy every time someone compliments his tea. I'm glad that he found his way of live in the city. I never have seen Iroh smile so much every day. When our day is over and we cleaned everything and we go home, Iroh makes us a cup of tea to. Zuko doesn't appreciate it as much as I do because we work in a tea shop the whole day and then we even see tea when we are at home but he always accepts the tea Iroh serves him.

This is how our days look like on a regular basis but now everything is going to change because Iroh got an offer of having his own tea shop in the upper ring. That is great news and it would help my search for Aang because I think his home is in the upper ring of Ba Sing Se. When we get home we start to pack our belongings. Then Zuko comes in and shows us a flyer with Appa on it.

That's it! Aang lost Appa. That explains why he is so unbalanced all this time. Of course Zuko wants to go and look for Aang, what's new. I hoped he would give up and live his life here with Iroh and me but I guess it's not enough for him and it makes me sad.
