♕Question of the day: Personally, what do you think the reason for living is?♔

(3rd person POV)

"Ow!" You yelp as you fly back, the fire whip scorched right on your arm. An angry red line you'd have to heal later, when Kai felt up to it.

"Don't 'ow' me, kid. No pain, no gain! You gotta get stronger someday!" Mereoleona laughs warmly. She seemingly doesn't mind beating you up with pure, ruthless fire magic.

"Not fair, I can't use my magic." You growl, ignoring the burning sting on your arm. All the while ignoring the smell of your own singed flesh.

"Fairness? You think a monster in the wild is going to give a damn about playing fair?" Mereoleona glares you down with a look you can't even take too seriously because of the practically unerasable smirk on her face.

"It wouldn't, and I wouldn't either, because I'd have my magic." You argue with a deadpan.

"That's what you think, but what if the enemy strips you of your Grimoire!?" She counters with a really smug face, mind you. Right... Grimoire, that book you've been carrying around to blend in. Heavy on your hip and all that.

"Uhm.. Have it." You throw the sad, worn book at Mereoleona's face. The woman grunts as the books spine collides with her nose, yet she refuses to move.

"You just... willingly dispose of your source of magic?" Mereoleona asks, crossing her strong arms over one another to glare down at you in question.

"Perchance..." You answer mysteriously. Or it would've been mysterious if this wasn't your POV, because you know you're just doing it to be annoying.

The woman raises a brow before her face twists into an amused expression once more. Pulling out her own grimoire to throw an attack at you again.

Before she could hurl another fireball at your face, you touch up your blindfold to make sure your eyes wouldn't be seen for your next best trick.

The flaming mass of magic wheezes through the sky, making the air ripple from its sheer heat. Looking at this, you wonder if she even wants you to make it out alive.

"Catch!" Mereoleona grins a bit too manically for your comfort. Maybe she's just crazy like that. Who knows?

You block the horribly deadly ball with a conjured up wall. You had already begun to miss the ache in your muscles from this one training session of non-use. Addicted to your own magic, isn't that something?
