• Shawn, Matt, Cameron and Nash drag you to a haunted house •

Shawn, Matt, Cameron, Nash and I stood in a long line, one that lead us to the doorsteps of the scariest haunted house put on around this time of year. It was cold out, being an October evening, and the distant sounds and screams coming from the house were making me nervous. I didn't want to go inside, and Shawn— my boyfriend— knew that, but him and his friends dragged me along anyway.

I stood closely next to Shawn and held his hand tightly, feeling terrified to go into the haunted house. I looked over at Cameron, Matt and Nash, noticing their excitement.
"This is going to be awesome!" Matt exclaimed, jogging on the spot in excitement.
"I know!" Nash agreed, "there were a lot of great reviews about this place, so I'm expecting it to be terrifying!"  He said, while examining the length of the line ahead of us.

I felt my hand being squeezed, causing me to turn my attention to Shawn. When I looked up at him his eyes were already on me.
"Are you okay?" he asked, "You haven't said a word in a while."
Honestly, I wasn't one for horror. I never liked to be scared.
"Don't be scared, Y/N," Cameron interrupted, it was as if he had read my mind, "the monsters are just actors."
As if I didn't know that. This didn't change the fact that I did not want to go inside.

The line was moving at a good pace, so we weren't standing for long in the same spot. This was good for the boys, who were eagerly awaiting our turn, but bad for me.
While standing in line, I over heard three girls behind us talking about their experiences visiting the haunted house. They talked about how frightening it was every time they came, and apparently this year was supposed to be its scariest yet.

Unexpectedly and out of nowhere, a loud piercing scream erupted from the house, causing me to jump.
I instinctively wrapped my arms around Shawn's torso and dug my face in his chest. I shook in fear.
I heard Shawn "aww" and the laughter coming from Cam, Nash and Matt. I thought that I even heard the girls behind us laughing too. I groaned, before slowly looking up at Shawn. I still remained attached to his body.
"Why did you have to drag me here?" I whined.
Shawn held me in a tight and secure embrace, which at least provided me some comfort.
"Don't worry, Baby," Shawn chuckled, "I'll be right next to you, and I won't let anything happen to you."
"You promise?" I asked, receiving a nod from Shawn.
"I promise," he assured, "this is going to be fun!"
Then he placed a kiss on my cheek.

When we eventually reached the doorstep to the haunted house the guys were all smiles, while I was all nerves.
There was one guy standing on the porch, dressed in tattered clothing and horrific face paint. He kept staring at me, looking as if he wanted to eat me alive. My body began to shiver, and it wasn't the temperature of the cold evening that was causing it.

We were asked to line up in single file before we could enter the house. Cameron volunteered himself to be first in line, followed by Nash, Matt, myself and lastly Shawn. Shawn suggested that he stay behind me, thinking this was the best way to help lead me through the house. I agreed along with him. Shawn placed his hands on either side of my hips. His touch once again providing me comfort.

Just before the door to the house opened in front of us, the scary guy that kept looking my way spoke up.
"You better watch out for this beauty," he informed while looking at me, with a sinister smile on his creepily painted face, "the ghouls would love to get their hands on her!" He finished with an evil laugh.
Just as I had processed what the creepy guy had said, we were pushed forward into the house. Once we were inside, the door shut with a loud thud behind us, locking us in.

We were surrounded in darkness, I couldn't see anything in front of me. My heart began to race as fear built up within my throat and chest. In that moment, the creepy guy's evil laugh replayed in my head.
But then I heard real laughter; familiar laughter. It was Matt.
"It's dark," Matt said through the dark, "I can't see anything!"
"Thanks for stating the obvious." Nash said, followed with a chuckle. Then Cameron laughed.

Where was Shawn?
Just then I realized that I could no longer feel his hands on my hips.
"Shawn?" I called through the darkness, trying not to let my fear make me stutter.
"Babe," Shawn called back, "where are you?"
"So much for being right next to me!" I replied, causing him and the boys to chuckle.
"I'm over here." Shawn informed a distance away from me.
"That helps, thanks." I replied sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
I walked slowly in the direction I believed Shawn had called out to me from.
Eventually my hands had wrapped around an arm, and I assumed it was Shawn's. I was so relieved once I had him by my side again.

"How do we get out of here if we can't see?" Cameron asked, sounding a further distance away from where I was. Just then a loud thud was heard.
"Ouch." Shawn's voice spoke out through the dark. His voice sounded distant... as if he wasn't standing right next to me. How could that be possible?
"Babe, did you even move at all?" Shawn asked, followed by a chuckle. It was then when a feeling of doubt came over me, as I realized that Shawn couldn't be the person I was holding on to.

Unexpectedly, a light switched on and illuminated the space. My eyes adjusted to the bright light and then began to scan over the room. First I saw Cameron, then Matt, then Nash, and lastly... Shawn.
"Oh shit!" Cameron laughed out loud, looking over at the person next to me. I then looked over too.
My eyes met with the scariest guy I have ever seen in my life! He wiggled his eyebrows at me causing me scream. I pushed the scary stranger off of me, running straight to Shawn. I held onto Shawn for dear life, as if the ghoul standing in the same room as us was there to take mine away. Shawn wrapped his arms around me instantly, rubbing my back for comfort.

"Shall we continue?" Matt asked with a smile. Just then a belting scream was heard coming from a few rooms away.
"I hate you guys." I said, before Shawn and I followed the boys further into the house. And this time Shawn was not going to leave my side.
