Shawn's Point of View
"Thanks, girls." I called out, holding a stumbling Y/N in my arms, as I waved a goodbye to her friends. Their replies and returned goodbyes were heard before I shut the front door.
"Shawn," my fiancé mumbled, gripping onto the fabric of my t-shirt to keep her wobbly self balanced. Her forehead had been resting on my chest and her eyes were closed, as I assumed the world was spinning around her. Y/N lifted her head, stumbling as she did so, causing me to tighten my hold around her. She looked up at me for a moment, before finishing what she wanted to say. "I'm thirsty." She said, causing me to laugh. I assessed her drunken state, smiling in amusement before replying.
"I think you've had enough to drink." I replied, guiding her towards the couch.
"How would you know?" She mumbled defensively, looking up at me with squinted eyes, before slumping down on one of the couch cushions. As if it wasn't obvious. I chuckled, shaking my head in my amusement, as I bent down to remove the heels from her feet."Oh!" She yelled in excitement, flailing about, causing her right heel to remove itself. The shoe flew off of her foot. "I bought a wedding dress today!" She said, her eyes wide with excitement. "Do you want to see it?" She asked, pulling out her cellphone from a pocket in her dress. I lunged forward, reaching for the phone in her hands before she could pull up the photo. I didn't want her to regret having shown me the dress when she was no longer tipsy. Her eyes looked at me questioningly.
"I want to wait until you walk down the aisle," I said, looking back into her beautiful eyes, "I'll see it then."
She made a pouting expression, as her bottom lip stretched out further than the top. I smiled at her, before leaning forward and placing a kiss on her forehead.
"I'll go get you some water." I said, just as I pulled my lips back from her skin. When I had walked back into the living room with a glass of water in hand, Y/N was laying on the couch. When I got closer to the couch, I noticed that my fiancé was cuddling a pillow. She held on to the soft cushion tightly, snuggling her face into it.
"Shawn," she whispered into the pillow, causing me to stop and watch what she was going to do or say next, "you're so comfy." She said, and gave the cushion a kiss. I bit down on my bottom lip, attempting to hold back my laughter. I found it amusing how she had mistaken the pillow for me. I made a few steps forward, and crouched before the couch in front of her. I cleared my throat, causing her eyes to flutter open.
"Darling," I spoke, "I have your water."
She smiled wildly at me, before looking down at the glass in my hand. She carefully sat up.
"Thank you, Shawny." She said, despite having never called me that before, and reached for the glass.
"You're welcome, baby." I replied, through my chuckles.Upon pulling her lips back from the glass after taking a few gulps, some water had spilt on her chest, soaking a part of her dress.
"Oh, no!" She cried, looking down at the soaked fabric, sounding like a five year old who ruined her favourite dress. Her eyes looked away from the dress and onto me, before she looked back down at the dress and then back at me again. "Oh, no." She repeated, her saddened eyes looking into mine. I found this moment to be really cute.
"It's just water, honey. It's okay." I smiled, reaching for her free hand. I gave it a reassuring squeeze. "Come on," I then said, standing with her hand still in mine, "lets get you ready for bed."I carried her in my arms all the way up the stairs, through our bedroom, and into the bathroom. I flicked the bathroom's light switch on, before gently placing Y/N down on the granite counter.
"Shawn," she called, just as a yawn had escaped her lips.
"Yes, darling?" I questioned, while looking for the makeup removing wipes she used.
"I'm tired." She said, leaning back against the mirror. I looked up at my fiancé, noticing the heaviness in her eyes. I nodded, realizing just how tired I was becoming too.
"Me too, baby." I replied, pulling out another drawer. Inside the drawer, were the makeup removing wipes."You know what?" Y/N asked, leaning off of the mirror. Her body shifted, causing me to quickly reach forward and steady her. My hands held onto her waist firmly.
"What?" I asked, looking into her hazy eyes.
"I," she began, attempting to comb back the curls resting on my forehead. Instead she almost poked one of my eyes out with her finger nails. I took her hand in mine, lacing our fingers together. "I freaking love you." She said. An unstoppable smile rose to my lips, and it could have been the meaning behind her words or the humour in how she said them, that caused it. Or maybe it was a little bit of both. Before I could respond, Y/N continued further. "I really, really do, Shawny." She said. I couldn't help but laugh, she was just too adorable when she was drunk.
"I love you too, beautiful." I said, smiling through my reply, "I really do."After taking the makeup off from her already beautiful face, I carried her over to the bed. I carefully placed her down on the soft mattress, before walking over to the dresser and pulling out one of my t-shirts for her to wear. I loved when she wore my clothing. She always looked so cute in them, as they were all oversized on her.
I walked back over to the bed, and reached for the fabric at the back of her dress. I found the dress's zipper and slowly unzipped it open. Y/N shivered when the cool air met her skin. Just as I was about to take the dress off, she reached for my hands, stopping me.
"I want to do it myself." She said, holding my hands in hers.In her tipsy state, I wasn't sure if she would be able to get the dress off on her own, but I thought it would be amusing to see her try.
"Alright." I replied, letting my hands fall at my sides while hers reached for the fabric of her dress. Turns out I had been right.
She tried pulling the fabric over her head, but she was struggling to get it over her shoulders first.
"Baby," she eventually whined, tugging at the fabric. I tried my best not to laugh, but it was kind of impossible. "I'm stuck." She said, and through her frustration was chuckling herself. I then reached forward, successfully pulling the dress over her head.I unfolded the t-shirt that I had gotten from the dresser, and just when I was about to put it on her, she stopped me.
"Baby, what now?" I laughed, pulling back the shirt.
"I don't want that one," she replied, refusing to wear the shirt I had picked out. She took the fabric from my hands, and tossed the shirt to the other side of the bed.
"Which one do you want?" I questioned, slightly confused. She reached for the hem of the t-shirt I wore.
"I want this one." She said, lifting the fabric of my shirt, exposing my abdomen.
"You want the one I'm wearing?" I asked, laughing. She nodded, with a large grin pulling at the corners of her lips.
"I do." She said, pulling at my shirt. I shook my head, chuckling at her drunken cuteness, as I leaned forward and kissed her grinning lips. I could definitely taste the alcohol. Then, as she wanted, I took the t-shirt off from my body and placed it over hers. After tucking my fiancé into bed, I placed a glass of water and bottle of Asprin on her nightstand for the next morning, before slipping into bed myself. As soon as my body fell onto the mattress, Y/N's arms wrapped around me. Her warm body pressing against my slightly shivering one. I looked down, and into her eyes. Her eyes looked back into mine lovingly. She lifted her head, placing a soft kiss on my lips.
"Goodnight, Shawny." She whispered, snuggling back into my bare chest. I held her even tighter, pulling her closer against me.
"Goodnight, Y/N." I whispered back, before letting my head lie back against the pillow.Minutes later, just when I thought Y/N had fallen asleep, she spoke up through the darkness of the bedroom.
"Shawny," She called, causing me to open my eyes. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips. I figured that I would have to get used to the name "Shawny," as it seemed to be my new nickname while she was drunk.
"Yes, baby?" I questioned, my voice sounding as tired as I was feeling.
"I can't wait to get married," she said randomly, tightening her hold on me. "Can we just get married tomorrow?" She asked, as her words were spoken through a yawn. I laughed to myself, before placing one last kiss for the night on her forehead.
"Let's see how you're feeling in the morning." I replied, closing my eyes, ready for sleep to consume me.///
