(Shawn's Point Of View)The doorbell downstairs woke me up from my sleep. My eyes shot open at the sound. I looked around the ceiling of my room, letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. I rubbed my eyes before slowly sitting up. I turned my head towards my nightstand to look over at my alarm clock that read the time. It was close to midnight. The doorbell rang again, both startling me and verifying what had woken me up. Who could be at the door? I thought to myself. I got up from my bed wearing my sweats, not even bothering to put on a shirt, and walked towards the stairs in the hallway. I began to wonder if it was a good thing that my parents and sister were out of town or a bad thing.
When I got downstairs I had noticed that my phone, on one of the end tables, was lit up. I walked over to it to see what had popped up on my phone. It was a missed call. After reading the name of who had called I had an idea of who was at the door. I slowly opened the door to find out that I was right.
"Y/N?" I mumbled, staring at my ex girlfriend who stood in front of me in tears. I hadn't talked to her for almost four weeks."Shawn," She mumbled, "can I come in?". She stood there on my porch shaking from the cold. It took me a moment to respond but I eventually did. I just nodded my head, stepping back to open the door further. She walked past me, walking into my house. I shut the door behind me before turning to face her. Tears poured from her eyes but she still looked beautiful as she always had.
"I'm s-sorry I just showed up at your door, I tried calling y-you but you never picked up." She mumbled, stuttering through her tears.
"I left my phone downstairs." I said picking up my phone from the end table and putting it in the pocket of my sweats.
"And it's alright." I mumbled, referring to her apology about showing up at my house this late. She just stood there with her hands entwined together, twisting side to side. Her bottom lip was pinned down by her top teeth, something she did when she tried to fight back tears. She looked so vulnerable.
"Are you alright?" I mumbled, even though it was obvious that she wasn't. Her eyes stared into mine before she shook her head. She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my torso catching me by surprise. She buried her head in my chest as she always had when she was upset. I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed the small of her back with one of my hands, just as I had whenever I comforted her. Seeing her cry broke my heart, it always had. No matter why we had ended our relationship.I sighed before speaking up.
"Come on." I mumbled as I let my embrace around her fall. She released her embrace around me before I turned around and walked towards the stairs. Y/N followed me to my bedroom, her sniffles quiet yet easy to hear through the silence of my empty house. I put my phone on my nightstand before taking a seat on my bed. Y/N just stood in front of me, her eyes wandering around my room.
"What's wrong?" I asked through the silence. Her gaze rested back on me. Her eyes began to water again, making me believe that her sadness had something to do with me.She ran a hand through her hair and pulled at it on the top of her head as she looked down at the floor. She looked directly at me before replying.
"I miss you." She cried. Considering why we broke up, I didn't know what to think or say. She met someone else and was convinced that he was the one for her, but here she stood now in my room basically telling me otherwise. I sighed, breaking the eye contact we held as I looked down at the floor.
"I know that I probably look like a fool right now," she mumbled, "but I don't care." She cried. I stayed quiet, trying to process everything she was saying.
"Shawn," she mumbled as she stepped forward, causing me to stand up, "I made a mistake." She said, staying where she was."I regret leaving you, I never should have." She said, wiping a tear from her face.
"You are the one that I want.".
"If I was the one you truly wanted you wouldn't have left me for someone else." I replied. She sighed before speaking up again.
"I love you," she said, "and I'm sorry that I had to be with someone else to realize that you're it for me.". Y/N began walking closer to me, causing me to panic. I wanted to move but I couldn't, it was as if her gaze glued me to the floor. She filled the large gap that had once been between us, and grabbed my arms that I had crossed over my chest."I love you." She said again, causing my heart rate to increase. She pulled my arms out of their crossed position and wrapped them around her waist. I gulped, remembering how hard it was for me to be this close to her and not want to kiss her.
"Forgive me." She cried, wrapping her arms around my torso. She rested her forehead on my chest before looking back up at my eyes.
"Tell me you still love me." She mumbled, before placing a kiss on my collarbone. I did still love her, and that was what made this hard for me.I followed her lips as they moved slowly along my chest and then my neck. She pulled her lips away from my jawline to look at me. I stared at her face, noticing a drop of a tear still resting on her face. Her eyes pulled me in like a tornado does to a small town, and it destroyed me just the same. Her lips slowly pressed on mine and I couldn't fight the urge to pull away, I kissed her back.
She pushed me back, causing us to fall back on my bed. Our lips moved together perfectly, and our hands knew where to roam. Even though my heart wanted to keep going, my head told me otherwise.
"Stop." I mumbled out of breath more than once. I sat up. She respected what I had said and sat up too, staring at me with questioning eyes.
"I love you," I said, causing her to smile until I continued, "but I don't know if this can work out.".
"Just give us another chance, give me another chance. I promise I'll be a better girlfriend to you then I had been." She said grabbing one of my hands.I saw sincerity in her eyes, and I couldn't help but believe her. I wanted to believe her. I had made mistakes in my past and so had she, all we could really do was learn from them.
"I love you, please take me back." She whispered, tears beginning to build up in her eyes again. I lifted my other hand that wasn't entwined with hers to wipe a tear that had fallen down her cheek. I placed a quick kiss on her jawline before looking back into her eyes.
"I love you." I said, causing a small smile to spread on her lips. I was the one to lean in and kiss her this time. When she had pulled away from the kiss she looked at the time on my alarm clock.
"Can I stay here?" She asked. I just nodded my head, lying down on the mattress. Y/N laid next to me and rested her head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, thinking about how unexpected this night was.
"Thank you." Y/N quietly whispered, pulling me out of my thoughts and being the last thing I heard before falling asleep.///
