Our bedroom grew darker as the evening became night. The only light in the room came from the television that played a random show neither of us were paying attention too. Shawn's back was rested against the headboard of the bed and I laid on my side in between his legs, resting on his chest. I had one of my hands in his hair, combing it back, and my other arm was wrapped around his torso. Shawn had his hand on the small of my back, brushing his fingers along my skin where my shirt had risen. We had been wrapped in each other's embrace since late that afternoon, when Shawn had gotten home from the first leg of his tour. We only had a week together before he would leave for tour again.
It seemed as if staying in bed, wrapped in each other's arms, the time went by slower. That was one of the reasons why we chose to spend our time just cuddling in bed.Shawn's chest rose and fell in slow breaths. I could feel the warmth of his upper body radiating through his t-shirt, keeping me warm. I could also feel the defined muscles of his chest and abdomen pressed against my body. And with my ear against his chest I could hear his heartbeat, slow but prominent.
I began to wonder if he had fallen asleep, as his fingers no longer roamed along my back and he hadn't said anything in a while.
"Shawn," I whispered, "are you asleep?"
His heartbeat sped up at the sound of my voice. I let my hand fall from his hair and lifted my head from his chest to look at him. His eyes were closed but a sound escaped his closed lips, letting me know that he was still awake. A small smile pulled at the corners of my mouth. My gaze fell to his lips, automatically causing me to lean towards them. My lips felt magnetic to his, and they attached to his as a magnet does to a fridge. I opened my eyes for a moment during the kiss to see that his eyes had opened. If he had been sleeping he sure was awake now. I pulled away from his lips and chuckled as a smile formed across his face. Shawn leaned his face towards mine and reattached our lips. I couldn't help but smile through the kiss, remembering how much I craved it when he was away on tour.
"Well, you're awake now." I chuckled, after pulling away from his lips. Shawn rested his head back against the headboard.
"I just had my eyes closed." Shawn replied.Shawn looked tired and drained from all the traveling and shows he had been doing lately. The sockets under his eyes were slightly dark from lack of sleep and his eyelids looked as if they felt heavy.
"Sure." I said, playfully rolling my eyes. Shawn just chuckled. I rested back down on Shawn's chest, wrapping my arms tightly around his torso.
Shawn reached for one of my hands and entwined our fingers together.
"I missed you." He whispered, lifting our joined hands to his lips and kissing the back of mine. Since he had gotten back, that had been the hundredth time he had told me he had missed me.
"I missed you too." I replied, snuggling into him. Our joined hands fell at his side. I began to play with his fingers, and brush mine over the palm of his hand. The thought of him going back on tour in a week broke my heart. It felt as though my chest was experiencing physical pain when I thought about it to long. I sighed, causing Shawn to question me.
"Babe," he said, "What's the matter?" I tilted my head upwards to look up at him before replying.
"After this week, you're going to leave for tour again." I said, unable to control the saddened tone in my voice.
"Y/N, I just got back." Shawn chuckled, "And you're already thinking about that?"
A small smile formed on my lips at the sound of his laughter. I sat up to get a better look at him.
"I know, I'm sorry. It's just that, I wish we could do this everyday." I said, just before placing a quick kiss on his jaw. Shawn's smile stretched out further. He nodded in agreement.
"I do too," he said, just before a look of guilt rushed across his face.
"But, leaving for tour is a part of my career. It's something I'm required to do."
"I know... It's just that I miss you while you're gone. That's all." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"And I miss you," Shawn replied, "Like crazy." He admitted.
"I'll be back before you know it." He said, trying his best to make me feel better. I nodded, with a smile.Shawn leaned his face closer towards mine, and he rested his forehead against my own. I could feel the warmth of his breath hit my lips. His eyes looked into mine, and they were filled with adoration for me.
"I love you." He whispered against my lips. Before I could respond, he pressed his lips against mine. Our lips moved against each other's effortlessly. It was as if our lips were meant to be pressed against one another's. Shawn deepened the kiss, making my stomach flip in the moment. This is what I would miss the most while he was away, his kisses. Though, the longer our lips were apart when he was away, the better the kiss would be when he returned. We eventually pulled our lips apart, and we laid back into our cuddling position.
"I love you too." I finally responded. It grew silent again. The low volume on the TV was the only thing heard. In that moment, I began to think ahead. I could not help but think about our futures and where we would be. Would Shawn still be with me in the next five years? In the next ten? I could not picture my life without him.
"Shawn?" I asked, cutting through the quiet around us.
"Hm?" He replied, brushing his fingers along my arm. All of a sudden I became nervous to ask what I wanted to know. What if his reply was not what I wanted to hear? I pushed myself to ask anyway, regardless of my slight fear. I tilted my head upwards to look up at him.
"What do you see in your future?" I asked. Shawn chuckled at if there was an obvious answer.
"Shawn, I'm serious!" I said, sitting up once again. A grin stretched across Shawn's face.It took him a moment to answer, causing me to worry. Did he really have to contemplate whether I would be apart of his future? Shawn cupped the side of my face with his hand.
"You," he replied, "I see you."
A large smile stretched across my face.
"Really?" I asked, slight shock evident in my voice. Shawn chuckled, looking away from me as he laughed.
"You really mean that?" I asked. He looked back at me and his face became serious.
"I do." He admitted.
"What do you see in your future?" Shawn asked, grabbing one of my hands and entwining our fingers together.
"I see, (Another Celebrity Crush)." I joked.
"Y/N!" Shawn said, pulling his hand away from mine.
"I'm just joking!" I laughed, taking his hand back.
"I see you." I said, this time being serious. A large smile pulled at the corners of Shawn's lips.
"Promise?" He asked.I knew that Shawn was fearful of me leaving him, believing that his career may cause me to give up on him. A lot of times our relationship was long distance, but I knew that wherever he was or however long he was gone, he loved me. That was all I wanted, his love. I did not hesitate, or have to think. I nodded as a response.
"I can not imagine a life without you." I said.
"Neither can I." He replied, before pressing his lips back on mine.///
