(A wedding imagine was requested so here it is, thank you to the person who requested it! ❤️)

I stared at myself in the full length mirror, admiring myself in my wedding dress. Today was the day that I would marry the love of my life, Shawn Mendes. I took a deep breath and exhaled my nerves. My knees shook and my hands trembled, both out of nerves and excitement. My gaze on my dress in the mirror averted to the door when I heard the click of it opening. In the reflection of the mirror I saw my groom, making my heart race.

"What are you doing here?" I smiled, turning around from the mirror. Shawn's gaze from the floor looked up at me and a smile formed on his face.
"I'm here to see my bride." He said extending his arms out, just waiting to grab me.
"We're not supposed to see each other until the ceremony." I said, wrapping my arms around his neck as his arms wrapped around my waist.
"Technically the ceremony was supposed to start five minutes ago." Shawn chuckled, making me chuckle.
"And besides," he mumbled, looking at me from head to toe, "I couldn't help myself."

"You look beautiful." He said, his eyes inspecting every feature on my face.
"Thank you, and you look very handsome." I replied, blushing at the compliment. Even after all the years we had been together my reaction to his compliments never changed. I couldn't help but blush every time.
"Thank you." Shawn mumbled. My eyes trailed down to his chest were they rested on the flower pined there. I let my hands fall from around his neck to fix the flower. I tilted it until I liked the way it looked on him. When I looked back up at Shawn his eyes were still on me, the largest grin on his face.

"What?" I mumbled.
"Nothing." Shawn said, shaking his head.
"How did I get so lucky?" He asked, making me blush.
"Stop." I whined, causing him to chuckle.
I got myself out of his embrace and slowly walked back up to the mirror, flattening the skirt of my dress. Shawn came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"You're shaking." He mumbled against my ear.
"Are you nervous?" He asked, his eyes searching my face in the reflection of the mirror.

I nodded my head, turning around in his embrace to face him.
"Just a bit." I replied, nervous that I would mess up during the ceremony. I had so many what ifs going through my head. What if I trip while walking down the aisle? What if I forget my vows? Everybody was going to be looking at us.
"Do you have any nerves regarding me?" He asked, a hint of worry evident in his eyes. I shook my head right after the words left his lips.
"You settle my nerves." I admitted, placing my hands on his chest. Shawn smiled at my response.

"Then just look at me. When you're walking down the aisle, when you are saying your vows." He said. It was as if he had read my mind as I thought about every possible place I could mess up.
"Just look at me." He mumbled, swaying us side to side. I nodded my head, grateful for his comfort. Shawn's gaze turned to the clock on the wall.
"I better get out there." He chuckled.
"If I don't go now people might begin to think we bailed." He joked, causing me to chuckle.

Just as Shawn was about to turn around I stopped him.
"Wait!" I said, grabbing at his arms. He searched my eyes, wondering what I wanted.
"The next time I kiss you, it'll be as husband and wife." I mumbled. Shawn smiled and nodded his head, waiting for me to continue.
"Can you kiss me one last time as my fiancé?" I asked, my cheeks becoming pink once again.
"Can I?" Shawn chuckled, before placing his lips on mine. We both smiled through the kiss. In that moment my nerves had vanished completely.

The music began playing, my cue to begin walking down the aisle. I decided to walk myself down the aisle, and as my legs shook I began to think that maybe that wasn't the best decision. I took yet another deep breath before the doors opened, leading me to the alter. The first faces I saw were those of family and friends, staring at me in awe. I smiled at them before looking for the one person who made me smile the most. Shawn.

He stood there, his eyes following my every move. He stared at me in awe all over again, as if he hadn't seen me before the ceremony. Staring at him I forgot my worries. I then noticed the tears that fell down his cheeks. He was crying, beginning to make me emotional. As I walked past my immediate family and Shawn's I waved at them, causing them to wave back. I smiled at them before looking back over at Shawn who made his way down the steps, extending his hand out to me. I grabbed his hand and we began walking up the stairs.
"Did I tell you that you look beautiful?" Shawn whispered against my ear. I nodded my head and we both chuckled.

"And stop crying," I mumbled, "you are going to make me cry." I sniffled. Shawn just chuckled, grabbing both my hands as we stood before the priest. The priest began to talk, but to be honest it was hard to concentrate on what he was saying. I was so focussed on Shawn and staring at him that the priest's words became a blur. I had to force myself to concentrate.

The next thing I knew it was time for the rings and vows.
"Y/N," Shawn began, "you are the most important person in this world to me. You are my rock, my best friend, the love of my life, and my everything. I am by far the luckiest man in the world to be standing here before you and marrying you today." Shawn said, beginning to tear up again. Tears were already falling down my face, and he tried to wipe everyone one of them away.
"I promise to take care of you, keep you safe, and keep you happy for the rest of your life. I love you." He said, ending his vows.

I cleared my throat before beginning my vows.
"Shawn, everything I am to you, you are to me. I believe all the things that you have promised, for I have never been loved by another man the way you love me.". A tear fell from Shawn's eyes and I was there to wipe it away for him.
"I promise to make you the happiest person in the world, as you have made me. I love you." I finished. Sniffling and awes could be heard from the crowd causing Shawn and I to chuckle.

Next, the ring bearer brought the rings to the alter and Shawn and I exchanged them. Our fingers both trembling as we placed the ring on one another. Then the moment we have desperately been waiting for came.
"I now pronounce you, Mr and Mrs Mendes. Shawn, you may kiss your beautiful bride." The priest said, and everybody began to clap. Shawn smiled down at me as he pulled me by the waist. He leaned down and kissed me, and I kissed him back as soon as his lips met mine.

After Shawn pulled away, breathless, he spoke up.
"That wasn't so bad, was it Mrs Mendes?" Shawn mumbled, pressing his forehead against mine.
"Not at all Mr Mendes." I replied with a smile, placing my lips back on his.
