(I was asked to write another jealous imagine, where this time you're the one who's jealous. Thank you for the request, I hope you like it! ❤️)
"What are you going to get, Darling?" Shawn asked, while pulling open the door to Starbucks for me. I hummed in thought, before going over the multiple choices of beverages in my head. Shawn followed closely behind me, letting the door of the shop shut behind him as we got in line to order.
"I was thinking a shaken iced tea." I answered, feeling his fingers reach for mine. He entwined his fingers with my own, taking a hold of my hand. I looked up at him with a widened smile, and felt a sudden rush of fluttering within my stomach when he looked back into my eyes.
"What about you?" I asked, looking up towards the beverage menus. I looked back at Shawn when he began to answer.
"I think I'm going to get a-"
"Iced green tea?" I questioned, answering for him. Shawn chuckled, looking down towards the floor. He nodded as a reply, causing me to chuckle.
"Why did you even have to ask?" He replied, looking back at me with a grin pulling at the corners of his lips. I knew that he wasn't really asking, but before I could respond the barista at the till had called us up to order. When we were done ordering, we had to wait for our drinks at the far side of the counter. There was only one customer ahead of us, a young woman, leaning against the counter waiting for her own order. I couldn't help but admire the long ringlets in her hair, or the cute burgundy sweater dress she wore with stockings and high heeled boots. I could only imagine how pretty she looked from the front.
"A vanilla latte!" Called the barista, placing the hot beverage down on the counter. The young woman in front of us spoke up, reaching for the latte.
"That's mine, thank you." She said, just before turning around towards Shawn and I. Upon seeing us, she stopped abruptly. Upon seeing her, my heart stopped abruptly. It was in that moment when I realized just how familiar those ringlets had looked.
"Shawn?" She asked in surprise, with a large grin and widened eyes.
"J-Juliana?" Shawn stuttered, surprised himself.Juliana Williams was Shawn's first ever crush. He fell for her in the eighth grade, after a single glance her way. He continued to like her all throughout high school, and despite the occasional conversation, they never became anything more than friends. Though, still he continued to secretly like her. It wasn't until high school had ended, a few weeks after graduation, that his infatuation for her began to fade, as he became aware of the true feelings he felt for his best friend. Me.
"How are you? It's been a while!" Juliana exclaimed, her gaze focussed solely on him.
"I'm doing great," Shawn replied, looking back at her with a beaming smile, "how about you, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing good." Juliana replied, looking down at the floor as though she was trying to hide her goofy smile, while combing a strand of hair behind her ear.Though I stood closely next to Shawn, I began to feel like I had gone unnoticed by the both of them. This was until Juliana looked back up, and her gaze fell on me.
"Oh, hey," She began, looking at me with a more composed smile, "Y/N, right?"
Despite being in the odd class together throughout the four years in high school, Juliana and I never really talked. Of course we knew of each other, though thanks to Shawn I knew more about her than she probably knew about me, but that was about it. I nodded in response to my name, before greeting her back.
"Hey." I replied, wearing a timid smile."A shaken iced tea, and an iced green tea!" The barista called from behind the counter, causing me to look in that direction. Just when I was expecting Shawn to excuse us so that we could go up and grab our drinks, he spoke up and did the complete opposite.
"So, what brings you here?" He asked her, leaving me with no other choice but to grab the beverages myself.
"I'm just meeting a friend," She replied, before continuing on with further small talk. Shawn seemed to be too engaged in his conversation with Juliana to care that our beverages were waiting for us on the counter.
"Excuse me." I mumbled through Juliana's words, excusing myself from the conversation even though I wasn't really contributing to it. Shawn's eyes met mine, just before I walked away from both him and Juliana.
