I knew that I loved him, but I wasn't sure if we should be doing this. I folded one of my shirts as I looked down at my almost full suitcase that I had on my bed. I placed the shirt I had folded into the suitcase like all the other articles of clothing I had stuffed in there. There was worry in the back of my mind that caused me to pack slower than I had anticipated. I had to be out of here before my parents got home and had to be ready to leave when Shawn got here. Just then I felt a vibration against my thigh. It was a text from Shawn.
From: Shawn
I'll be there in 5 mins babe.I placed my phone back in my pocket after reading the text and then continued with my packing. I zipped up my suitcase after putting the last item I needed into it. I sat on my bed with a sigh. Exhausted from both the packing and anxiety I felt. I looked around my bedroom and felt a bit of sadness knowing that I would no longer be using it after today. Who knew what my parents would turn it into if they decided to give up on me after this. Shawn's parents and mine didn't get along, so we weren't exactly allowed to be together. Though, Shawn and I ignored their demands. If we wanted to be together and not have to worry about our parents we had to leave home. Especially now. That was a risk Shawn was willing to take, even a bit more than me.
A knock on my bedroom door startled me.
"Hey Babe." Shawn said, sliding through the crack in the door.
"Hey." I smiled, getting up off of the bed. He walked over to me and engulfed me in his loving embrace as he always had. And then he kissed me, making my body tingle all over.
"You got your bags packed?" He asked after pulling away from the kiss.
"Just the one." I replied with a nod. Shawn walked passed me and picked up my luggage, signalling for me to follow him. I stopped at my bedroom door and looked into my bedroom one last time before slowly shutting the door behind me.I pulled the hood of my sweater over my head before walking out the door, for I had noticed that it began to drizzle. I zipped up my sweater that began to hug me, and then shut the front door behind me before walking down the front steps. Shawn slammed the trunk of his car closed before running over to the passenger side of his car where he met me and opened the door. I said a quick thanks as I hopped into the seat. I watched Shawn through the windshield as he ran to his seat on the drivers side. The car beeped when he opened the door, lingering until the door shut. Then all that could be heard was the raindrops hitting the car. Shawn was about to start the car but I stopped him.
"Shawn, wait." I said, grabbing his arm.
"What?" He asked, worry and alarm written in his eyes."Are you sure that this is a good idea?" I asked.
Shawn rested back in his seat, resting his keys on his lap.
"It's not like we really have any other choice Y/N." Shawn sighed. I looked down at my hands that I had clasped together. I heard the frustration in his voice, and that gave me a feeling of sadness. My eyes caught Shawn's hand that reached out and grabbed one of mine.
"We'll be fine Babe. I have a plan, and I've been saving up for a while. You just have to trust me." He said.
"I'm trying my best." He mumbled. When I looked up I saw an emotion of sadness show across his face.
"I trust you," I replied, "it's just I don't want to regret running away like this."."They've given us no choice." Shawn replied, referring to our parents. Shawn brushed his thumb over my hand, something he did to sooth me. Shawn sighed once again.
"If they ever found out about the baby," he said, "they'd be livid.". A tear rolled down my cheek, followed by another.
"We can't just think about ourselves now Shawn. I mean, what if we can't do this on our own?" I asked.
"Babe, we'll be doing it on our own whether we stay here or not. If we leave we just won't have to suffer the consequences from our parents." Shawn replied. I wiped a tear that fell from my eye with my free hand.
"Please don't cry." Shawn mumbled. He leaned over to me and wiped my tears away with his free hand. He then placed a kiss on my cheek.
"We don't have to do this, but I think it's our best chance." Shawn said. He continued."You and I both know that our parents will not accept our relationship. There will be tension between our parents... Fighting," Shawn sighed, "Why put our child in that environment?"
Shawn looked out his window before looking back at me.
"Listen, I love you. If I felt this was a bad idea I wouldn't have suggested we do this. Y/N you have to trust me." He said.
"If you happen to want to go back, just say the words and I'll take us back. Though all I'm saying is let's see how it is, maybe this will be better for us... And our parents. Maybe they'll realize that their hatred towards each other is silly." He said before continuing further.
"And it's like you said, we can't just think about ourselves anymore.". I nodded my head.
"I'm going to take care of you, and our baby." He said.
He always knew what to say and how to make me feel better.I pressed my lips to his and kissed him. He kissed back instantly.
"I love you too." I mumbled after pulling away from his lips. We both sat back in our seats after that and buckled in our seat belts. Then without another disturbance Shawn started the car and pulled out of the driveway.I looked out at the dark sky, and just let some of my thoughts take over my mind. I looked over at Shawn when he grabbed my hand and entwined his fingers with mine once again. He had a smile on his face. I returned the smile before looking back out the window. I watched the rain drops as they fell down the window and listened to the only sound that could be heard, the raindrops hitting the car.
