I've known Shawn since we were kids, we grew up together. We started off as friends and recently admitted to each other how we really felt. I've liked him ever since sixth grade and he's liked me since eighth. When I mentioned recently, I meant it. It has only been a week since Shawn and I confessed our feelings, so we were just seeing how things played out for us.
"Shawn," I whined, "I'm trying to watch the end of the movie." I said. Shawn was playing with my hair which I found to be very distracting. We both sat on the couch in my living room, watching a movie that I had played over an hour ago. We were the only ones home.
"I'm sorry, I can't help it." He replied, referring to the piece of my hair he couldn't stop twirling around his finger.
"Plus I've already seen this movie before." He said just as the movie went to credits. I looked over at him with a questioning look on my face.
"Well then why didn't you say anything?" I asked. Shawn chuckled.
"It looked as if you really wanted to see the movie, so I let you play it." He said.
"You're such a goof." I said, turning off the TV with the remote.Shawn chuckled again, and let the piece of my hair go that he had been playing with. He brushed the strands of hair away from my face and while doing so his fingers swept across my collar bone. I caved in a bit and chuckled, causing Shawn to question me.
"What?" He asked with a chuckle himself.
"That tickled, that's all." I replied. Right then I could see the look in his eyes. A smirk rose to his face.
"Oh no." I said, starting to back away from him. Before I could run off the couch Shawn pinned me down and began to tickle my sides.
"Shawn, stop it! T-That t-tickles!" I laughed, as I tried to push his hands away from me.
"Yeah I know," he laughed, "that's kind of the point.". Shawn eventually stopped and sat back up. I gained my breath and sat back up myself.
"I hate it when you do that." I chuckled.
"I know, that's why I love to do it." He smiled. I rolled my eyes and he chuckled.I noticed that he just stared at me. His eyes wandering my face. We were sitting a few inches apart from each other, facing one another. I followed his eyes as they moved around my face. His eyes would travel from my eyes to my lips, and constantly went back and forth between the two.
"What?" I mumbled, a hint of nervousness evident in my voice.
"Why are you nervous?" Shawn asked, only looking into my eyes now.
"I know what you want to do." I said. Shawn gulped, and then looked at my lips once again.
"And what might that be?" He mumbled. I searched his eyes, not really sure what I was looking for.
"You want to kiss me, don't you?" I asked.Shawn didn't reply, but instead leaned forward. He placed his hand on the side of my thigh. His lips were inches away from mine. So close that I could feel his breath against them. I began to panic.
"I've never kissed anyone before." I mumbled. Shawn pulled back a little.
"Never?" He asked. You think that he would know that. I knew that Shawn kissed other girls many times before, for he dated a couple of girls over the past few years. I shivered before shaking my head.
"I guess there's always a first for everything." Shawn chuckled, his face still inches away from mine.I shut my eyes before opening them again. I was nervous, worried, and excited all at the same time. I felt as if all these emotions I was feeling all at the same time were going to make me sick.
"I'm beginning to feel awkward." I mumbled, waiting to feel his lips against mine.
"There is nothing to feel awkward about." Shawn laughed.
"People do this all the time." He said. I laughed at that one. Shawn's face moved closer towards mine once again, and my heart rate sped up.Just when I thought his lips were about to touch mine panic set in again.
"Shawn I don't know what to do!" I said. Shawn laughed and then pulled his face away once again. I began to feel embarrassed for the way I was acting, over a kiss.
"Don't worry about it." He said as he grabbed my hand.
"Just follow my lead. I'll start off slow." He smiled. I bit my lip and nodded. Come on Y/N, you can do this.
"Just take a deep breath and relax." He said. He let go of my hand and caressed the side of my face. He looked into my eyes, his moving back and forth from mine as if he was looking for reassurance that he could lean in. I nodded my head letting him know that he could. Then he tilted his head and did just that.I felt his breath against my lips before his lips gently touched mine. Shawn's lips moved first and I moved to fit them. I tried not to think and just let it happen. His lips moved with mine, and it was like nothing I've experienced before. My stomach felt as if it were doing flips, and I couldn't help but smile through the kiss. I could tell that Shawn couldn't either.
Shawn then slowly pulled away from my lips. His face was still inches away from mine. He rested his forehead on mine.
"Was that so bad?" He whispered. I chuckled causing him to chuckle too.
"Not at all." I replied, before pulling my head back and reconnecting my lips with his.///
