Y/1stF/N = Your 1st friend's name
Y/2ndF/N = Your 2nd friend's nameI wasn't expecting to go wedding dress shopping today, if I had I would have probably had more people with me. My two friends, Shawn, and I passed by a bridal shop and I was dragged inside to check it out. I was still unsure as to what kind of dress I wanted, so I wasn't really expecting to find anything I liked.
"So Y/N, when is the wedding?" Eve, the bridal consultant, asked as my friends and I followed behind her.
"Uh, next year." I replied, looking at all the wedding dresses around me. There were too many to count.
"How long have you and Shawn been together?" She asked, looking back at me with a smile.
"Eight years." I replied, thinking about my fiancé sitting alone in the lobby.
"Wow, and you stuck together even through the craziness of his career." She said, finally stopping somewhere. I nodded my head in response now that she was looking at me."Yeah," I mumbled, "he's the love of my life." I said, the words coming out of my mouth before I could even process them in my mind.
"Awe, that is too cute!" Eve said, clapping her hands together with the largest grin stretched out on her face. I chuckled before she spoke up again.
"Alright, how about we go try on some dresses?!" She asked excitedly. I looked back at my friends who took a seat on the couch in front of the pedestal and mirror before looking back at Eve and nodding."What do you think about this one?" Eve asked as I stepped on the pedestal in front of the long mirror. I pulled at the ruffled skirt of the white ballgown, fixing it on my body. I stared at it in the mirror. It was strapless and had a straight neckline. There was also a bit of embroidery around the waist.
"It's... Alright." I replied, tilting my head as I looked at the dress.
"I don't like it." Y/1stF/N said, being blunt.
"There is just... Too much going on in the skirt." Y/2ndF/N chuckled.
"Yeah." I agreed, looking over at Eve. Eve slowly nodded her head.
"Alright, that's okay." She said.
"Let's go try on something else!". Her eyes widened in excitement."No." Y/1stF/N said, being blunt once again. I looked at myself in the mirror, my eyes following the second dress from top to bottom. The dress was white and simple. It wasn't a ball gown, it had simple embroidery along the neckline, and had a skirt made out of feathers.
"You look like a bird." Y/2ndF/N said, causing all of us except Eve to chuckle. I tried to hold back my laughter, not wanting to look rude.
"Yeah, it's not working for me." I said, flattening the skirt.
"Alright." Eve mumbled, looking around the room. Her head stopped moving and she stared out into the distance, a smile rising to her face. Her head began to nod."Oh, I think I have just the dress for you! Come, come." She said, walking back in the direction of the change rooms. As I followed behind Eve I turned to my friends, and couldn't help but flap my arms like a bird. This caused them to erupt in laughter. I put my arms down just as Eve looked back. I chuckled to myself after she turned her head to look back in front of her.
I stepped onto the pedestal in my third dress, and looked at myself in the mirror. This dress was nowhere near the other two. It took my breath away.
"Wow." Both my friends said in unison. I smiled back at them and nodded my head.
"Do you like it?" Eve asked, causing me to look in her direction.
"It's gorgeous." I said. I looked down at the skirt, flattening it with the palms of my hands.
"How much is it?" I asked. When Eve told me the price I could imagine that my face turned the shade of the dress."That's a lot of money for a dress I'll wear once." I mumbled.
"Shawn can afford it!" Y/1stF/N said, causing the other to laugh. I rolled my eyes, playfully. I knew that Shawn had the money to pay for the dress, but just because he had money didn't mean that we didn't have a price range on things.
"Do you want the dress?" Eve asked. I bit my lip, looking into the mirror once again. I nodded my head.
"I have to ask Shawn first." I said.
"Would you like me to send him over here?" Eve asked. I nodded my head, knowing that he had to see the dress if he was going to pay that amount of money for it.
"Yes, please." I replied.Just before Eve turned around my friends got up from the couch.
"We'll wait for you in the lobby." Y/2ndF/N said, before they both followed Eve around the corner.Minutes later I heard a thud and then laughter before I saw Shawn's figure come around the corner. I laughed, seeing as he had his hands over his eyes and that he was walking slow.
"Are you sure you want me to see the dress?" He asked, before bumping his shoulder into the wall again.
"Ouch." He mumbled. I chuckled, stepping off of the pedestal and walking up to him.
"I'm sure." I replied. Before he could remove his hands from his eyes I had, holding them at my sides. His eyes were still closed, but eventually he opened them. His eyes widened as they looked over the dress, from head to toe."Babe," Shawn mumbled breathless, "it's beautiful.".
"You're beautiful." He said, placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Thank you," I blushed, "but, the price isn't beautiful." I mumbled. Shawn shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, how much?" He asked. I hesitantly told him the price, nervous to hear what he thought. I could see it in his face expression, after I had told him, that he thought that it was a lot of money for just a couple pieces of fabric.
"It's dumb right?" I mumbled looking down at the floor, "For a dress I'll wear only once.". Shawn released one of his hands from my grip and placed a finger under my chin, lifting my head."It's not dumb." He responded, shaking his head.
"Our wedding is going to be one of the most special days of our lives." He said with a smile, his eyes sparkling.
"If you want this dress," he mumbled, picking up the fabric of the skirt and letting it drop back down, "and it makes you happy, just as you made me when you said yes to marrying me, then it's yours.". A big smile rose to my face.
"Even if it's the price that it is?" I asked, grabbing onto his torso.
"Even if." He responded. I crashed my lips onto his in excitement. I could feel his lips curve into a smile against mine."I can't wait to marry you." I mumbled, after pulling away from his lips.
"Neither can I." He replied, twirling me around in my new wedding dress.///
