"Bobby put that down!" I called when I saw my younger cousin holding one of my mom's vases. Just then the door bell rang. I watched Bobby put the vase down and then run away. I sighed walking over to the door. I almost tripped on my way there as my other younger cousin ran past me.
"Madison, be careful!" I said. The door bell rang again.
"I'm coming!" I called.I opened the door to meet eyes with a grinning Shawn.
"Hey Baby." He said.
"Hey, I wasn't expecting you." I replied.
"I texted you but you didn't respond. Can I come in?" He asked. I nodded my head with a smile.
Shawn walked in and I closed the door behind us. He placed a kiss on my cheek, making me smile.Shawn looked up at the ceiling when loud thuds came from upstairs. Shawn narrowed his eyes, clearly wondering what had caused the ruckus upstairs.
"I'm babysitting Bobby and Madison for a few hours. My aunt dropped them off at the last minute." I said.
"Oh no." He chuckled. Shawn knew my younger cousins, we had watched them together before a few times. Bobby was eight and Madison was six. They were the definition of trouble makers."Shawn!" Madison yelled as she ran down the stairs.
"Madison!" He said, kneeling on one of his knees and extending his arms out. Madison ran into Shawn's arms and hugged him tightly.
"How's my girl?" Shawn asked making her blush.
"I'm good. How's my boyfriend?" She giggled. I couldn't believe that I felt a tad bit jealous over my six year old cousin calling Shawn her boyfriend. Ever since they met they apparently had a relationship. Shawn looked up at me and smirked. I knew that he knew what I was thinking. Shawn looked back at my little cousin as he replied.
"I'm great." He smiled.Bobby came down the stairs, stomping a foot on each step. The loud entrance made Shawn look towards the stairs.
"Hey Bobby, how's it going?" Shawn asked getting up from the ground.
Bobby shrugged.
"Alright." He replied. Madison ran off, as Shawn responded to Bobby.
"That's good." He said."Shawn, Shawn, Shawn!" Madison yelled running back into the living room. She carried a large box in her hands.
"What, what, what?!" Shawn replied, getting down on his knees once again. I chuckled. He was so great with little kids, even better then me. I knew that one day he'd be a really great father."Can we play 'Candyland'?" She asked with the largest smile on her face.
"Aw, 'Candyland'?" Bobby complained as he walked up behind us.
"What's wrong with 'Candyland'?" I asked.
"I still played it at your age." I said.
"Yeah, when there was nothing better to do. We have technology now." Bobby said. Shawn chuckled.I looked at my younger cousin as if he had three heads.
"I wasn't born in the stone age you know. We had technology." I replied.
"Whatever." Bobby mumbled making Shawn chuckle once again.
"Uh." I said, as if I were taking his reply as an offence. I looked down at Shawn.
"You're just going to let him talk like that to your girlfriend?" I asked. Before Shawn could reply Madison spoke up.
"Yeah, because you're not his girlfriend," she replied with a serious face, "I am." She finished with a smile. I looked at Shawn and he just shrugged his shoulders.
"And I thought I had you whipped." I said as I walked away, hearing yet again another chuckle leave his lips.We all ended up playing 'Candyland'. We played three rounds, and I was already done with the game after the first round. Though, despite Bobby and I's pleads to do something else Madison and Shawn forced us to play again. My aunt came to pick them up just after we had finished the third round.
I shut the front door behind me and sighed in relief. Hopefully I wouldn't be watching them for at least another three weeks. I looked over at Shawn who just stared at me.
"How come they are so well behaved with you?" I asked, walking over to the couch and sitting down. Shawn followed me.
"I'm Shawn Mendes." He replied with a chuckle as he sat down next to me. I playfully rolled my eyes."Your girlfriend was pretty happy to see you." I said looking over at him.
Shawn rolled his eyes with a smirk on his face. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me on to his lap.
"Why do you get so jealous?" He laughed, tightening his grasp on me.
"She's six." He said.
"I don't know." I mumbled wrapping my arms around his neck.
"You are obviously my number one girl." He said, nuzzling his face into my neck. When he lifted his head I placed my lips on his.The buzz in Shawn's pocket caused us to pull away from the kiss. Shawn pulled out his phone from his pocket. I watched his eyes as they skimmed across his phone screen. He shut off his phone and looked up at me with a smile.
"Want to babysit tomorrow?" He asked. I tilted my head back and sighed, while Shawn chuckled at me.///
