Chapter 2

Chase POV

Throughout the day, Nikki was all I could think of. She has a robotic chip in her body. Her body is in no way capable of with standing the powerful upgrade. Especially when there's no bionics to upgrade. When it reaches her brain, she's gonna be in major pain. I can't believe I was so wrapped up in her that I could think of what it may do to her! I'm so stupid! I need to call Davenport. He'll know what to do, he always does. But I'm not sure if he's ever dealt with a nonbionic being given a chip like the one I took. I just hope that it was something majorly powerful. Or effective. Please this be one of Davenports works that doesn't work!

As soon as I step out for lunch, I rush to boys bathroom. As I step into the squeaky clean room. I make sure to check that no ones around to hear this. It could be dyer consequences. And then we would have to deal with a big mouth and a girl who's going through who knows what!

I hid in one of the stalls before taking out my phone and calling Davenport

D: Hello? Chase?

C: What does the chip do?

D: it's a high tech chip. In hancing your bionics.  It's also filled with other bionics that will be added.

C: oh no

I say under my breathe

D: what?

C: I have to go bye

I said hanging up before he could answer. I do not need him handling this. It's my fault, I should learn from my mistakes. And I'll be the one to make sure Nikki's in no major danger. Although that she's not come to school means that something wrong might be happening. I had to go to Nikki's to help her. I felt guilty. I didn't stop myself and I'm scared what this will do to her. She's as fragile as any other human. Bionics connecting in her brain might harm her. But I'm not fully a where of what it will do. Out of everything I know. I always seem to not know the things I need the most.

Nikki's POV

I ended up staying home. My body hurts badly. I was barely well enough to stand. Let alone go to school and walk around for hours on end. It was an on and off pain. But it was still pain.When I woke up nothing seemed differant. Except the pain shooting through my body at a unstoppable rate,it felt like I was gonna blow up. And I was sure that I was going too. But I'm still in one piece so I guess that's good. It started when I left Chases but that probably had nothing to do with it. Maybe I was stressing so much that I'm calming down in pain. That's crazy, I'm just in a major pain. But I was home alone so I had to just get well on my own.

After what felt like a pain through my arms that lasted for three hours, not counting while I was asleep. Barely. When I felt better I went down stairs to make a PB&J sandwich. I was so hungry. I was craving anything close enough that I could sink my teeth into.

I was trying to open a new jar of jam but I had trouvé trying to open it. But the first try and it was open. I even left cracks in the glass. That was odd. I pulled back my hand and looked to see little indents in the jar where my fingers were. I knocked on the glass to see if it was just easily breakable. But I didn't get a crack. Weird.

Chase POV

As soon as the bell rang for us to leave I told Bree,Adam,and Leo I was going to the store so they didn't know what I was doing.When I arrived to Nikki's house,I knocked on the door urgently. I soon heard a distance yell.

 "Come in!" I tried the knob to notice it was unlocked. I opened it and walked into the quiant house. The kitchen was the first thing i entered, It was pretty plain but it was empty.

"Hello Nikki? It's Chase" I called out. Cupping my hands around my mouth to make my voice echo.

"Oh yeah, I'm up in my room. Come up!" I hear someone scream.
