Chapter 26

Nikki's POV

I've been worried about Lauren. She hasn't contacted me or came over for the past few days. I know it doesn't seem like much but it is when your best friend and you talk everyday. These thoughts were fogging my mind. I get uup slide on my jeans,a ruffled top,and threw my hair in a bun. I decided to meet the rest of the group out at breakfast. I find all three of the siblings sitting at the table. I sit by Chase "morning" he says giving me a kiss on the head and wraps his arm around my shoulders. "Morning" he says with a smile "morning" I say giving a small smile. I didn't really give much enthusiasm for a conversation. Lauren was clouding my mind. I just felt like something was wrong, something I'm missing. "Are you ok Nikki?" Bree asks snapping me back into reality. I look around to see all three with concern on there face. I force a smile "I'm fine,Adam have you spoke to Lauren the past few days?" I ask Adam as he looks like he's thinking it over "no but I thought she was with you" he answers making my eyes grow wide. Not good,not good,i repeat over in my head. I feel myself tense up as the thought grows in my mind she could be in trouble. "She's probably just sick or something I'm sure there's a logical reason" Chase says with his hand on my back,rubbing circles with his thumb trying to soothe me. "Y-Yeah I guess" I say standing up. "I'm full I'm just gonna go in my room for a bit" I say dumping my plate and heading for my room. Where's Lauren? maybe I should go to her house and check on her. I don't wanna over react to nothing. But I have a feeling it's something and I just have to find out what it is. I sit down on my bed to think. So she hasn't spoken to me or Adam? that's not like her. I hope nothing bad happened to her-

*ring ring*

I look around for the source of the noise and find Chases phone on my nightstand. He must've left it here. I looked at the caller ID:

Hmm that's weird. I decided to answer it. He wouldn't mind would he? "hello?" I ask after waiting a few seconds for a response "Nikki?" I hear in a somewhat familiar voice "speaking who's this?" I ask politely. I hear chuckles on the other line "does this sound familiar? 'Nikki dear,Chase is no good you were too good for him. You don't deserve someone like that you deserve better' dae sha vu?" I froze on the spot. I heard those words when Chase and I were broken up. By the only person I truly spoke to during the whole split. "Kyle?" I ask a little scared "your right! Tell me Nikki how are you and Chase?" he asked as if he cared "we are good. What do you want?" "why would you think I want-" he was cut off mid sentence "help! please let me go!" I hear in a shrivel all too familiar voice. "You have Lauren?!" I freak "yes" he answers. I start to shake from everything out of this so far short conversation "why?" I ask trying to hold back my tears "this was the only way to get your attention. But I didn't realize taking her would cause such a migraine! I tell you I had to beat her with a metal rod to get her to shut up" he says sounding frustrated. A few tears slipped my eyes They beat her? "what do you want Kyle!" I say with my voice cracking "I want you. I want your abilities I want other things with it but you won't be there to see it" I was holding back the freak attack from everything. I'm practically negotiating my life for my best friends. I can't let my best friend die because of my life. "I see your thinking. You know where to find me" he says hanging up. My hand shakes as I put down the device. I cover my mouth and start crying. First,hes back and still is after me no matter the cost. Second,he has Lauren. There's no third who knows how long I have until he does something to Lauren! the guy is bionic he can't hurt her in many ways that make me cringe. I grab my purse and leave out my room. I'm not sure if I should tell the rest or if I'll make it out on my own

Lauren's POV

I've been beaten,kidnapped,and abused by some kid! The guy is like a villian with all the powers. He's terribly strong which is the reason I have bruises throughout my body. Even though he practically yells more then talks,he seems to talk about Nikki. How she has something he wants. He better not hurt her! she's like my baby sister and I can't imagine her getting hurt. It just tears me down. But hearing his conversation with her gets me a bad feeling that she will get hurt. And what his intentions sound like. It sounds like she's gonna go into a sleep. It bring me to tears saying that there's a strong chance she won't wake up
