Chase POV
All this morning my auto vision would switch every few minutes into commando mode. It would switch on then off. It felt like blinking because it was loading which was slowly taking me out of reality but never fully did it. I thought maybe it was a glitch. I mean I get them every so often. I wonder if Nikki's getting them too.
I woke up in my capsule that I was in for about half in hour. I had set a stabilizer to stabilize my bionics. I think a glitch is just fuzing through my body. Coursing through my bionics and metal bones.
Thinking of metal bones brought me back to the first morning of school. I wanted to meet girls that were not Bree or on tv. But I had a worry that no girl could like a guy with metal bones and a bionic brain. Plus I wasn't the tallest, strongest, or best looking. It was difficult because I had never really been judged by anyone except my siblings. And they were kidding, most of the time. Just knowing the world, people, would be noticing my presence for the first time was nerve racking.
But after a month and meeting Nikki. It felt like something told me "you have nothing to be ashamed about. Your girlfriend is transformed into the same thing. Prove to her that being like you won't make her feel like an outsider." And I do. I'm not ashamed I can save the world. Or my bionics. Although I was nervous for Nikki because she was regular. She had a shock go through her body and throughout her DNA turning her bones into metal. I cant imagine that sort of pain. She couldn't move. I remember holding her stiff body in my arms as I made my way back home to fix her. But she cought on with training and handling situations greatly. Which is a reason I'm proud to have such a great person.
I remember thinking about how worried I was for her, I even remember calling her my girlfriend in my head even though it was just my second day of knowing her. But we made it official a day later when she called me her boyfriend. I have to admit I was nervous she was just saying that to have someone close to her in her situation but I learned Nikki's better then that. I just never thought of how strongly I'd feel for her.
But after my fight with Kyle. I learned bionic fights are for a prize. In my case, my girlfriend. I'm lucky I even won, that was my first fight, not my last.
As I was about to come out the capsule, I hear a voice in my head.
"Ok chief, time for Spike."
I was confused but didn't have time to think it through before blacking out.
Spikes POV
I stretch as I transform and adjust into my body. As I was snapping my finger knuckles, flashes of electricity goes off within the capsule. I cover my head as the tiny lightning bolts shoot.
The feeling I would get minutes later felt weird. It didn't hurt but it felt like someone was pulling the life out've my body. It knocked the wind straight out've me. Then the flashes stopped and I was on my knees. Heavily breathing at the ground as I feel my chip slowly restore my bionics.
I got up and I felt more, light. Not in a sense of weight but more mind. I'm not sure what happened.
I stepped out the capsule and looked around. Everything seems normal.
"Hey!" I hear behind me and I immodestly face it in a fighting stance. But no ones there.
"Show yourself, coward." I spit as I slowly walk around the lab. My instincts on edge.
"I'd love to but I'm looking at myself." I heard and I recognized the voice.
Chase?
Why does it sound like he's in the room and not my head?
