Chapter 34

Nikki's POV

"No way! Your kidding aunt Macy! Ok bye" I hung up and squealed with glee. My baby brother Carter was visiting! Yes I have a baby brother. My parents are never home so he stays with my aunt Macy to be raised. He's 4 now and is adorable! My aunt is dropping him off in a little while! Its been months since I've seen Carter! I better get ready to see him!

I can practically not stay in my seat! "Nikki why are you so jumpy?" Adam asked "my baby brother is coming over" I sqeauled as Chase who's sitting by me makes a face that it hurt. "Sorry I'm just excited" I apologize "no need to be sorry Nikki. You love your brother" Ally chimed in. I nodded and heard a nock "he's here!" I screamed as the guys cover there ears.

I run to the door and there is my little man standing at the door with his arms up signaling for me to lift him "Carter" I greet hugging him "Nikki!" he sqeauled I've always been close with my brother. "Lets go inside" I say holding him on my hip as we walk in. "This is Carter" I greet towards everyone. "Hello Carter" everyone greets him as he waves his little hand. Ally and Bree bounce over "he's so cute!" Bree gushes "he looks just like you" Ally says tickling Carter making him laugh and show his little dimples "how old are you?" I ask Carter even though I knew. Carter holds up four fingers "four! You need to stop growing" I scold playfully. I went down and sat by Chase to introduce them. "Carter, this is Sissy's boyfriend, Chase say hi" I tell Carter but he gives Chase a funny look. "Hi Carter" Chase greets. Carter doesn't reply. He's usually a sweet little boy with lots to say but suddenly he's quiet? "Carter, say hi to Chase" I tell him but he shakes his head no and hides his face in my neck. Chase looks concerned and a bit hurt "he's just shy for the first time. He's probably just tired" I say giving an excuse. Why won't he say hi? "Carter are you ready for a nap?" I ask him but he shakes his head no. Danget! I forgot to get his pacifier. Yes he still uses it don't judge him. "I gotta run to the store for a few minutes do you mind watching Carter?" I ask everyone "sure" Ally gushes. I put Carter down on the floor hoping he would want Chase to hold him but he looks at Chase and runs his little feet to Adam. "That's odd. But I'm sure you can bond by the time I'm back" I say pecking Chases lips and hurrying off.

Chase POV

Carter is a mini boy version of Nikki. He looks just like her. Which is good because his sister is beautiful. But why won't he talk to me? Carter was sitting on Adams lap telling Adam some story his little mind came up with. I go over to Carter "hey Carter wanna play?" I ask sweetly but he furrows his eyebrows and runs for Bree. Does Carter not like me? Bree giggles "I think someone doesn't like you" Ally comments. "He likes me" I say going over to pick him up but he screams as if I'm about to give him a shot. He then runs away to Ally. "Carter do you like Chase?" Ally asks setting him on her lap he shakes his head no. Why not? Im likable! Im dating his sister "why not?" Bree asks "Nikki's a good girl and Chase is the evil man" he replys. what? I'm not evil. We just met and he already doesn't like me. "C'mon Carter lets talk" I say picking him up. He looked too scared to protest. What's there to be scared about?

I brought him to Nikki's room and sat him on the bed. I crouched down in front of him. "Carter why don't you like me?" I ask "your a bad man" he claims. How? Im not even close to bad. I would prove it by explaining what I've gone through for his sister but he wouldn't understand. Because he wasn't there and he's four "why am I a bad man?" I ask confused "you don't love Nikki" he claims. What? Of course I do! C'mon Chase your getting worked up over a four year old! But it's also Nikki's brother so "what? I do love your sister, very much. Why do you think that?" I ask it looks like he's thinking "think what?" he asks with a smile cracking through "I don't love your sister" his grin grows. He tricked me into saying it! Carter smile grows larger, having his dimples caving in deep "you said it!" he says "I'm telling Nikki!" he threatens. "What? You tricked me!" He smiles knowing what he's doing. Wow he's smart for a four year old. "You said it and I'm telling!" he says like he's got a big secret. But I couldn't let him tell Nikki! Of course she would believe her brother "you can't tell Nikki" I freak.

"Tell Nikki what?" I hear Nikki ask from behind me. I jump up "Nikki! Your back" I say trying to act nonchalant but my eyes were wide "yeah I got Carter's pacifier" she says a little on edge. "Great!" I say and put it in his mouth to keep him quiet. "How's Carter? Does he let you play with him?" she asks smiling. I look at the four year old with a mischievous smile "yeah we were actually just talking" she giggles and goes to pick Carter up "what did you two chat about?" she asked Carter. Carter took out his binky "Chase said-" "I lost a game" I cut him off. "Really? Congrats Cart you won!" she cheered as he looked at me. Wow I'm actually scared of a four year old. "Yeah he's really good" I nod as he looks at Nikki, admiring his older sister "I gotta secret" Carter whispered catching Nikki's attention "really? what is it?" she asked. Before he could speak I took him from Nikki "ok! I think it's time for his nap. I'll put him to sleep and meet you in the living room" I say pecking her lips. "Um ok? Night Carter" she says kissing his head and leaving.

I tuck Carter under Nikki's blanket as he looks at me knowing something I don't want him to tell. "I love your sister" I say once again "you said you didn't" he countered "because you got me to say it!" I protested. He giggles "I did it again" he says smiling. Again? "what do you mean again?" I ask "Johnny and Nikki aren't dating anymore. I told her he didn't love her" he explains. Did he really! "they broke up?" I ask, he nodded. Then he closed his eyes ready for a nap. Won't it be fun when he wakes up?

Bree's POV

"Your kidding! Not that sweet little boy" I say laughing "he really did! He's a smart little boy" Chase says looking beat. "I wonder why he did that" I ponder "I don't know but he's set on telling Nikki that I said I didn't love her and I don't know what to do. He's gonna wake up soon" Chase says freaking out. "It's ok I'm sure he won't say anything" I say patting his dhoulder. "Chase! Come here please" Nikki says from her room. Chases eyes get wide "good luck" I tell him. As he slowly gets up and walks to Nikki's room

Chase POV

He told! I step into Nikki's room and rush over to her "I swear Nikki I love you with all my heart. Your brother tricked me into say it" I defend as Nikki looks at me confused with Carter on his hip. She looks at Carter "were you playing the camera man or the fish?" she asks him. What? "fish" Carter answers. I'm confused beyond point "what?" I ask. Nikki giggles "ever seen the movie MegaMind?" The little kids movie? "yeah" I answer "well Carter is a little boy who likes games. His favorite movie is MegaMind and when he got here I said you were my boyfriend his little mind decided to make a game from it" she explains "I don't understand" I say looking confused "in the game he made me the news reporter girl and he made you MegaMind. Making Carter the fish assistant. In the movie the fish doesn't like that MegaMind likes the reporter so he tried getting him to stay away from her. So Carter tricked you into saying you didn't love me" she says shrugging "how did you get all that?" I ask amazed "he's my brother and he likes to mix up words and play. He likes you he was just cought up in the game. Huh Carter?" she asks as Carter looks at me and smiles "I love Chase" he says in his tiny voice.

The kid is the king of tricks but the cutest heart. He must get it from his sister. I can't wait for him to be my brother one day
