Chapter 43

Nikki's POV

Science fair time! I was so excited to enter the science fair! Before I met the Davenports I use to wish I could come up with something that I could enter. But now that I have my bionics, I do. Chase and I decided to work together. Two heads are better then one. One head just happens to be extremely cute and happens to be my boyfriend. Which makes it better. Davenport is letting us use the lab to build our creation that will surely bring home first place. My thoughts is something big and impressive. Like a laser cannon. Who's not impressed with a whole in the wall? I would. Plus we could make it out of simple things to show how easy it could be made. It's perfect!

"So, Nikki" Chase says with a playful smile before wrapping his arms around my waist "you look pretty good for a scientist" I smile and giggle at his comment. "You don't look bad yourself" I say motioning to his lab coat he thought was necessary. "Thanks" he said before pecking my lips with a 5 second kiss. It was a sweet and happy kiss. We parted and sat on the stools for the island in the middle. "So what's your idea?" I ask "I was thinking we do this plasma cannon" that's like my idea. But I think that will burn the school down "what about a laser cannon? Same thing, less chance of school burning down" I offer. He draws his mouth to a thin line "yeah but I think the plasma cannon will be more affecting for the judges votes." He disagrees "plus, any genius could build a laser cannon" what? I lean back and smile "oh really?" I ask and he shrugs "yeah". He shrugs like it's no big deal. I'm not taking my first entry into the science fair and having a chance of being disqualified because the school burned down! I want things to be a simple, easy win.

"Well, I think plasma is going over the edge" I tell him bluntly as he chuckles and cocks a smile "oh?" "yeah" I nod. I was already getting frustrated. "I think a laser cannon would be child's play for our height of knowledge. It's as easy to make as a exploding volcano" ok, that one stung. "Well a plasma cannon is too advanced! The judges will get suspicious on how two high school sophomores built one" I point out trying to stay calm. "No they won't. If we built a laser cannon, it would be boring. Oh we can slice through wood, so can a knife" ok now he was just dissing my idea. "Oh we have the capability of burning the school down. Yeah, so can a match" I copy. "You know, I bet anyone could make a laser,anything. It's easy. No ones complex enough to make a plasma cannon in our high school" I don't want this conversation going any longer. I'm done with this. I don't need to sit here and listen to him trash talk my idea. I give him one last glance before storming off to the elevator. I hear him get up and follow me "where are you going?" He asks. I press the button and turn around "I'm going to my room to work on MY entry for the fair. I can win this on my own" I state before stepping inside the elevator. "Fine with me but you'll come crawling back when you realize I was right" he scoffed. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms as the doors closed. Before they fully shut I say "please, I don't need you" I make out before they close and I'm taken up to get ready. I can do this without him. I'm just as smart. Even smarter. Piece of cake

Chase POV

It's not that you need me. I hear footsteps emerge from behind me and I turn and see Adam with a giant smile on his face. "That fight was epic! I thought she was gonna blow your head off!" He laughs. I roll my eyes "there was nothing good about that fight. Nikki's mad at me now" I say crossing my arms and leaning against the control panel. "And now you can win the science fair" he says smiling "no, Nikki and I planned to do this together. She probably just needs to steam down" I result. She can't really be ditching me over the fight. "You think that do you?" Eddies voice emerges from the screen along with his pixilated body. "Yeah" I confirm. The screen switches to a camera installed in Nikki's room. She's sitting on her bed with a blue print laid out. She looks like she's going over how to start. Adam and I watch closer as we see her write something on the blue print. "She's probably just trying to convince me to use her idea" I say trying to make sense of this. "I don't think so" Adam says pointing to the screen. Eddie zooms in and were able to read what Nikki put clear as day. 'Chase is going down' "told you" Adam gloats. Nikki's that mad? "Now let's work on your idea. I'll help since Nikki's no longer an option" Adam offers. Maybe this will be over by tomorrow. "C'mon bro" Adam says. Nikki was headstrong with her idea. I will be too. "ok, let's get to work"
