Chapter 47

Chase POV

Camps been...entertaining. Not like what I expected. I think when they said 'for science prodigies' it was just there to make the camp sound smart. Ryan, has been my biggest annoyance. As of Brennan, he's actually pretty cool.

I plop on my bunk and rest after a competition on who can make the best invention with stuff from around the camp. That's dumb, we have no technology to power it. I'm not taking the battery out my lap too or phone in case Nikki needs me. Nikki, I've been worried about her. We haven't spoken in two days since she called asking about my controllment of the weathering app. I was worried about her and I was really hoping to get ahold of her. I take my laptop out from under my bed and press the power button. Watching it come to life. I go onto Skype and see Nikki's on. I immediately press the video call button and wait for her to pick up. After three rings she finally picks up.

The screen lights up with Nikki's face. Her smile made my heart jump

"Hey" she said making her dimples cave in.

"Hey" I greet back.

"How's camp?" She asked seeming interested.

"It's going good, nothing exciting like it is there." I shrug and she shakes her head

"Nothing much has gone on here. I somewhat expected Lola to make an appearance looking for Spike but it never happened." She says as I nod

"Yeah, I expected my bionics to come out unexpectedly but nothing happened." I haven't talked about or done anything with bionics since I got here. Too many people around who might hear me.

I turn around when I hear my cabin door open. Brennan came in. He looked wiped out. He was freaking about the challenge earlier so I was guessing it was that.

"Who's that?" Nikki asked from hearing the door open.

"It's my friend, Brennan. Brennan come see." I invite and he nods and walks over. Soon he becomes visable as Nikki looks at him.

"Hi" she greets and he nervously waves.

Brennan and I have gotten on the topic of Nikki before. He told me how girls don't really talk to him. I had the same problem before Nikki came along.

"Brennan, this is Nikki. Nikki, this is Brennan." I introduce and Nikki greets him with a smile.

"Wow, she really is pretty." Brennan says then blushes as Nikki giggles.

I smile and nod in agreement.

"So what's been going on at the house?" I ask

"Like I said earlier, nothing exciting. Adams been messing with some of your stuff. Oh yea, you'll be switching,um, beds with Bree." She said not wanting to say capsules.

"Why?" I ask a little nervous

"Adam was messing with a 'paint gun' and turned your bed pink." My jaw dropped. I'm gonna get him when I get back.

"But you rarely sleep in it anymore anyway. So that's an upside." She says trying to make me feel better. But I guess it should. Now when I get back I can sleep with Nikki in my arms.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Hey Chase, I'm gonna go get something from the cafeteria. I'll be right back." Brennan said excusing himself from a conversation he knows nothing about. I nodded and with that he left.

"So Chase, I got something I wanna show you. I finally learned how to control weathering." I say and I wait for her to start. She angles the camera so I can see her stood up. With one flick of the wrist, she turns her lamp into ice. I smile,proud she learned how

"Congrats! You'll have to teach me when I'm back."

"Defiantly. Bionics aren't as fun without you." She says while sitting back down on her bed. I thought id show her some thing I practiced.

"Look at this." I said and moved a lamp that was across the room, into the palm of my hand.

"Lucky! You have Telekinesis!" She gushes and I smile

"I miss you." I say as she smiles and her eyes gleam

"I miss you too." She responds.

"Nikki!" I hear in the background in Tasha's voice.

"Coming! Gotta go, love you Chase." She says waiting for my reply

"Love you too." I say before she signs out. I had three more days til I see her again. Sounded better then seven. I got up and stretched my aching bones. Only for my eyes to meet Ryan standing outside the cabin window with his eyes wide open. My heart stopped.

"Ryan, how long have you been there?" I ask nervously smiling

"Bionics, you have bionics. Are you like a robot or something?" He asked looking freaked out.

"I don't know what your talking about." I say

"I have it all on camera." He says holding up his phone.
