Bonding

Callie's POV: 

"Sophia when is dad coming home?" I asked her while we sit in the living room. "He should be back shortly actually." She answers causing me to nod my head. "So Callie; you excited to be starting senior year next week?" Mike asks me breaking the silence. "Yes i am very much so. I am looking forward to visiting colleges, and finding my ideal career." I explain causing Mariana to laugh. "What's so funny Mari?" I ask her slightly annoyed. "Sorry, but come on Cal we all know you are going to be following Brandon around like a groupy." She says with a judgmental tone in her voice. "Yeah because you know me so well Mariana. Remember when you cheated on Mat with my ex boyfriend!? Or when you let me take the fall for you selling Jesus' pills? Screw you Mariana!" I spit at her, and walk out of the room. I end up in my room sitting on my bed beyond pissed off. How dare Mariana just assume that i wouldn't want to do my thing? Mariana knows nothing about me, and at this point she can fuck off. Suddenly i hear someone knock on my door. "Callie? Can i come in?" I hear the person behind the door ask. "Sure." I say getting off my bed, and walk towards the door. The person behind the door was the last person i thought i'd see. "Oh hey Mike. Come on in if you'd like." I say waving him into my room still wondering why he decided to talk to me. 

"I know you are probably wondering what i am doing here." Mike says laughing softly. "I mean i think it is weird you decided to talk to me as we've never really had an conversation before." I explain. "Yes well it's never too late for us to talk. I feel like all i know about you is from either Brandon, or Stef. So why don't we bond while Brandon has a chat with Mariana." Mike says causing me to chuckle. "Okay sure. I'm a closed book so it might take awhile to peel back the layers." I say with a smile on my face. "Well you do remind a little bit like Stef so i think i am up for the task." He says with a hint of amusement in his face. "How long have you been in love with Brandon?" Mike asked the one question i never thought he'd ask. Before answering i clear my throat, and trying to form the right words. "Well i guess i fell in love with B the night we rescued Jude from my former foster father." I say in a small voice. Mike just nods his head like he was surprised by my answer. "But i didn't know at the time that my feelings were going to be reciprocated obviously. I mean i was fresh out juvie, and i almost got him killed because i wanted to save my brother." I say trying to get Mike to say something. "Well Callie i mean i think Brandon had the same feelings for you back then too. I mean i saw the way he looked at you in the back seat of Stef's car. But of course he didn't realize them until the wedding." He explains causing me to laugh. "Actually, he sort of told me he liked me before we kissed." I say. Mike just nods, and we find ourselves in another awkward silence. 

Before i could ask Mike a question; somebody else knocks on my door. I stand up from the bed, and walk to answer it. "Sorry to interrupt, but dad is home with dinner." Sophia says in a small voice. "Okay good; i am starving. Is the Brandon, and Mariana conversation over yet?" I ask. Sophia shakes her head no, and starts walking towards the stairs. "My dads back with dinner so we should go, and make an appearance at dinner." I say to Mike with a chuckle. "I guess we'll have to continue this conversation some other time." Mike says walking to the door, and walking down the stairs. Just as i was about you join everybody for dinner Mariana walks into my bedroom, and shuts the door. "Callie; my dumb ass brother has instructed me to come up here, and apologize for being a bitch to you. So i am so sorry for being mean to you earlier. I was so excited to finally spend time with you, and now i've ruined it." Mariana says in a quiet voice. "It's fine Mari. I clearly overreacted i mean i know you didn't mean any ill-will about my future. So let's forget it ever happened, and salvage the rest of our night together." I explain pulling Mariana into a much needed sister hug,
