Atty. Althea Guevarra is busy typing her Position paper for one of  her biggest case. It's a case against a well known company and her clients are asking for a just compensation for the land they own which the said company took over without their permission. She was still at the middle of her work when her phone rang and her wife's name can be seen in her caller ID. She smiled as she answered it. "Hey, honey, you called. Missed me now huh?" she teased.

"Don't be too confident Guevarra. I just called to remind you of our dinner tonight. Where are you now anyway?" she can imagine Jade pouted.

"Oh shoot." she face palmed as  she remembers about the dinner her wife prepared for them. "I'm sorry sweetheart but I cant' make it tonight." she apologetically said. "I'm working on a new case and I can't entrust this with other lawyers and Batchi is on leave. I'm sorry honey."

"But Thea can't that wait for tomorrow?" Jade answered. "The kids are coming and you know that it's not everyday that they're here especially Miguel." her wife not giving up.

"I know honey but this case is too important and I've got bunch of meetings tomorrow, this really can't wait." Althea begged. "I hope you understand."

"Fine." Jade finally gave in.

"Thank you hon, I love you. Please tell the kids I'll make it up with you guys tomorrow night. I love you." Althea smiled at her wife's understanding.

"I love you too. And be home safe later. Happy.." Jade didn't finish her words because Althea already hung up. "Happy anniversary." she just said it anyway even her wife is already gone.

9:30 pm

Althea entered their house silently but when she was about to go upstairs, she noticed someone in the kitchen so she went straight there and saw her wife. Her back was facing Althea so the latter just hugged her from behind and rested her chin on Jade's shoulder. "Hey, still up? I missed you." Althea said sweetly as she kissed Jade's neck. She then faced Althea and gave her lips a peck.

"I missed you too. How's work?" she said as she looked at Althea's hands as if expecting something her wife will bring for her. "Want me to prepare you dinner? The kids are already in their room and Miguel was so disappointed cause you haven't joined us earlier."

"I know and I'll talk to him tomorrow." Althea sighed "I had a long day  and I don't think I can eat tonight.  Can we just go upstairs? I think I need sleep more." Althea held Jade's hand as they went to their room. But before they headed the stairs Jade looked at the living room maybe Althea had brought something for her and just put it there, but she saw nothing.

"Hon, I'll just go take a shower." Althea told her wife as the latter settled on their bed. She was still hoping that Althea has something for her, it's their 29th anniversary and Althea can't miss that.

After  minutes of freshening up, Thea joined her wife who's busy reading  a John Grisham book, her ritual before going to sleep. "Honey, you still not sleepy?" she said as she hugged her.

"Althea, haven't you remembered anything?" Jade finally said closing the book.

"Honey, do I need to remember anything?" Althea asked unknowingly.

"Nothing." Jade answered coldly. "Wait let me get you something." Jade said as she stood up and took something from their closet. And as she returned to their bed, she handed Althea who's still thinking what she missed that day her gift. "Here, this is for you. They said the best gift for someone important is time so I got you this one. Happy anniversary, in case you forgot." Jade smiled sadly then settled herself at her side of their bed, her back facing Althea who can't find the words to say right now. She's screwed big time. It's their 29th wedding anniversary and she was the dumbest person for forgetting it.
