"gimme a second, okay?" the brunette girl asks while typing on the keyboard of her laptop.

josh lets out an exasperated sigh, his head falling back against the pillow. it's later in the day and after spending his birthday out and about with mia, all he wants now are some cuddles.

"but it's my birthday," he pouts. "and i wanna cuddle."

she glances up at him from over her laptop. "i'm trying to finish something for your surprise."

this makes josh grin cheekily. "ooh, a surprise?"

mia nods.

"what is it?" he asks, totally not catching the idea of a 'surprise'.

"i'm not telling you," she says back with a shake of her head.

josh rolls his eyes. "well hurry up, okay? i'm lonely."

"i'm literally like five feet away from you."

"and i want you right here," he says back, his hand patting the spot next to him on the bed. it's not that he's - okay, he's a little bit needy. and when he's in a cuddly mood ( which is most of the time ) he doesn't like waiting.

eventually, mia closes her laptop and sets it on top of her desk. "okay, i'm all yours."

this makes josh grin and open his arms wide with expectancy. "c'mere and love on me."

"you're such a dweeb."

"yeah but it's my birthday, so shut up and cuddle me," replies josh.

mia gets up from her desk chair and crawls up on the bed. she's engulfed in josh's arms, and he lets out a content sigh once she's settled against his chest.

"see, this is so much better."

mia rolls her eyes at her oh-so dramatic boyfriend.

there's a happy little smile playing on the male's lips. "so when do i get my surprise?"

"later, j. it's supposed to be a surprise, so quit asking about it," insists mia.

"but i wanna unwrap presents."

she picks her head up from where it's resting on her shoulder and gazes at him. "i guess i could give you one of your presents now."
