josh wakes up alone in bed.

this is his third morning waking up in columbus, and the first one that mia isn't cuddled up to him. it makes him
pout.

after pulling on a pair of sweatpants, the pink haired male lazily pads out of his and mia's bedroom. his feet carry him over towards the sound of movement and music in the kitchen. he can smell pancakes.

standing in front of the stove, clad in one of josh's shirts and a pair of yoga shorts, is mia. she has her phone plugged into the speaker dock with light, indie music projecting through the kitchen.

josh grins. his five-foot-one fiancé has her back to him as she hums along and moves her hips to the music. this is a very pleasant sight to see the first thing in the morning.

he sneaks up behind her and slowly wraps his arms around her waist.

mia squeaks with surprise and barely escaped dropping the spatula.

"geez," the male chuckles. "did i scare you?"

she nods shyly. biting her bottom lip with a small, embarrassed smile, mia goes back to flipping pancakes. "a little bit."

josh hums responsively. "thought so. why're you up so early, babe?"

"cause we have stuff to do later," says mia. she takes one of the cooked pancakes off the griddle and sets it on top of the small stack forming on a plate. "my brother's birthday thing, remember?"

"which one?" asks josh with a small, thoughtful frown.

"eddie," she says. "he's twenty four today. my mom's having everyone over."

he makes a delighted sound. "yes. i can't wait. your mom always makes the best food."

"this is true."

"check you out," tsks josh playfully. "being all housewife-ish and making breakfast. s'real cute of you, baby."

mia lets out a quiet laugh and nudges him with her shoulder. "shut up and eat your pancakes."

he nods, "can do," and picks up the plate stacked with fluffy circles of heaven. on the way to sit at the island counter he grabs silver wear and the bottle of syrup from the pantry.

"there's coffee, too," she says with a small, gesturing nod towards the coffee machine.

josh gives her an amused grin. "wow, pancakes and coffee? someone's getting head later."

mia feels her cheeks blush. "wonder who that someone could be."

"the cutie with the nice ass standing by the stove," he manages to say, mouth full of pancakes as he brings a forkful up to his mouth.

with a roll of her eyes, mia turns the griddle off and grabs two coffee mugs from the cabinet. after filling them both with warm, fresh coffee, she retrieves the french vanilla creamer from the fridge and walks around the counter to sit by josh.

"we're so domestic this morning - i love it," says josh, a big grin adorning his face. after spending so much time on a fixed tour schedule, it's nice to be able to enjoy a lazy morning with his girl. plus, she's rarely in a good mood so early into the day, so he's just soaking it up.

the black haired girl tucks one of her soft curls behind her ear and goes about with her pancakes, taking one in her small hands and rolling it up.
