thirty six ; what a catch, donnie

mia has come to the conclusion that going to the movies with josh is no longer a reliable date option.

"did you see that?!" josh yell-whispers for the eight time. his brown eyes are wide with excitement as he turns in his seat to look over at mia.

she glances over at him, trying her very best not to let it show that she's five seconds away from ranting to him about the fact that yeah, she did see it. they're both looking at the same screen.

"yeah, yeah, now shush," she says absentmindedly, waving him off before looking back at the movie screen. this movie is quite possibly the biggest cinematic event of her existence.

star wars : the force awakens

josh lets out another surprised exhale, his hand squeezing mia's tightly. he's the type of person that can't sit still or stay quiet during a movie. paired with the fact that he gets too excited over everything, it makes watching a movie with him either great or not so great.

"that is so sick," he exclaims, shaking his head slowly with disbelief. to josh, who is in love with star wars, everything is sick. "babe, watch-"

"josh i am watching. that's what i've been trying to do this entire time."

he grins shyly at her, eyes crinkling at the corners. her hidden annoyance is amusing to him. "gotcha."

by the time the movie is over, josh successfully kept his interruptions to a minimum. well, a minimum of like fifteen.

"did you like it?" he asks mia, swinging their laced hands as he pushes open the double doors of the movie theater.

she nods. "yeah. it was so good."

josh hides the amused smile that forms on his lips. "i didn't know you were such a nerd."

"i am not."

"are too."

"am not."

"are too," josh turns his head to kiss the crown of her head. her hair smells like marula oil and vanilla. "but it's kinda cute."

mia glances up at him. "yeah?"

he nods. "yeah."

the doors to his car are quickly unlocked and the first thing josh does after getting in the driver's side and putting the key in the ignition is turning on the heat.

"it's blowing cold air," she points out, holding a hand in front of the vent.

josh sighs, "the car has to warm up before the heat starts working. here, gimme your hands."

mia turns in her seat so that she's facing josh, and she holds her hands out to him.

he holds her hands, rubbing them and blowing warm air as his brown eyes gaze at her. she can tell that he's trying hard not to grin based on the ways the corners of his eyes crinkle.

god he's so cute, mia thinks to herself. like unfairly cute.

"better?" josh questions, slowly dropping her hands with raised eyebrows.
