"dude, you gotta tell her."

a low groan of objection comes out of josh's lips and is muffled by the pillow his face is smushed against.

"i can't."

tyler rolls his eyes at his band mate. "do it."

another noise of protest. "no."

"josh. you gotta."

"don't wanna."

tyler stands up from his bed and walks to josh's. before josh can protest, tyler snatches his phone.

he picks his head up and stares at tyler with a warning look. "tyler, what are you doing?"

"calling mia for you," replies the brunette with a casual shrug while plopping back down on his bed in the hotel room.

josh rolls his eyes. "you don't even know my passwo--"

"twelve twenty-one. the day that you and mia became official," says tyler while looking at josh with a smug smile after typing in the four digit passcode.

"i can't tell whether to be proud or mad."

tyler shrugs. "i'm your best friend, dude. i know everything. including the fact that you need to talk to your girlfriend and tell her what's going on before jenna does."

"i hate when you're right," mutters the nervous boy while sitting up. he outstretches his hand for tyler to give him his phone back.

the other boy glances up over the phone screen at josh. "are you gonna talk to her?"

he nods. "promise."

"you're a terrible liar, josh dun," laughs tyler, grinning as he clicks on mia's contact in josh's phone and starts a facetime call. "which is why i'm helping you out," he adds while standing up and giving josh his phone back.

the cherry haired boy runs his fingers through his messy hair. "is she gonna kill me?"

tyler shrugs. "eh, probably not. i'm gonna go bother mark, good luck."

so after giving josh a thumbs up, tyler grabs one of the room keys from the coffee table on his way out. and now it's just josh and the pending phone call.

he stares anxiously at the screen as 'connecting' is shown at the top, and after a few seconds he can see his girlfriend on the screen.

"hi," smiles mia, putting in her earbuds.

even though he's nervous, seeing her smile diminishes the feeling. "hey, baby. how's it going?"

the brunette girl shrugs. "okay. i just got back from rehearsal for graduation. oh, by the way, what time does your flight get in tonight?"

well, here goes nothing. "uh, yeah, about that..." josh trails off, one of his hands rubbing the back of his neck. something he's never been good at is delivering bad news. "our flight got canceled because of the storm."

"what?" she asks with disbelief. the look of disappointment that takes over her features makes josh's heart sink.

"i'm so sorry, mia. you know how much i wanna be there," says josh. him and tyler were supposed to be flying home later in the day, but because of the inclement weather their flight was canceled. and since mia's graduation is tomorrow, they can't make it.

"do you know when you'll be coming back?"

he lets out a heavy sigh. "two days at the earliest. please don't be mad at me, baby. i would give anything to be with you right now."
