"Is there something wrong, Steven?" Pearl asked as Steven pushed his food around his plate with a fork. He looked up. Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl looking at him with concern.
"Yea, dude you look totally bummed." Amethyst commented.
"Are you feeling okay, Steven?" Pearl asked. Steven took a deep breath, gathered his thought, and prayed to God that this would work out well.
"Actually....There's something that's been bothering me..... I haven't asked though, because I'm afraid of what your answer will be......." Steven said, his lungs didn't seem to be big enough to hold enough air for him to talk and he had to stop in between some of his words.
"What is it?" Garnet asked.
"You know you can ask us anything, Steven." Pearl reassured.
"Yea, man. Spill the beans." Amethyst said.
"Okay. Well.... You know how you guys are always talking about my mom and stuff you did together....do.....you.....ever.....DO YOU EVER WISH SHE WAS STILL HERE INSTEAD OF ME?!?" Steven shouted, pent up emotions spilling out.
Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl all shifted their gazes away from Steven, looking away from him.
"Well saw SOMETHING!" Steven shouted and felt his hand instinctively go to Pearl. It went right through her and she disappeared into pink clouds. Garnet and Amethyst vanished the same way.
Steven took a few minutes before he got himself under control and left Rose's room, back to the real world.
