"Why do you eat, Amethyst?" Peridot asked, with Amethyst eating a slice of pizza, leaning back in her chair. She shrugged, and ate the rest of the slice in a few bites.
"Just seems natural, at least to me."
"Why don't Pearl and Garnet eat?"
"Doesn't feel natural to them." Amethyst was already getting up to get more food, even though she had already filled the sink up to the brim with dirty dishes. Peridot followed her, only to turn around and walk back, with Amethyst holding up a pile of various foods, all very unstably balanced on top of each other, but balanced nonetheless.
"Why not?"
"Just isn't."
"Than how is it natural to you?" Peridot asked, sitting down on the too tall stools, watching as Amethyst devoured the food at an astonishing rate. Steven never ate this fast.
"It's natural in the same way that...." Amethyst thought for a moment, pausing between bites to look at Peridot, "that you used to talk. How it was so formal, it was just a habit." She finished the leftover chicken legs, and moved onto some steaks (which were raw, but it didn't seem to matter).
"A habit?"
"Yeah, you just have to try it." Amethyst said, sliding a can over to her. It was black, with three neon green claw marks, with the word 'Monster' crudely written in the same green. It didn't look bad. Peridot smelled it, with Amethyst watching expectantly.
It didn't smell...particularly bad.
She took a sip.

Steven woke up, to his surprise, to the lovely sounds of things smashing, chewing, and laughing. He peeked over to find Peridot hysterically laughing, doubled over, watching and only growing louder as Amethyst tried to eat a whole loaf of bread completely covered with honey.
"Guys?"
"Monster! Monster, Steven!"
The cluster? What monster?
"Wha-?"
"Monster!" Peridot wheezed before weakly throwing a half full can of Monster energy drink at his general direction, barely missing his head.
Energy drinks.

And then Peridot was sent to the hospital because of monster energy drink poisoning XD
