There are reasons that fusions are what size they are, which caused a lot of confusion for Garnet. Compared to Opal, Garnet is small. She's nearly the size of a normal gem. Why?
When Pearl and Amethyst fuse, they because bigger, not by much though. But when Amethyst fused with Garnet, she become huge.
She talks about how she felt powerful, strong when she was fused with Garnet.
But Ruby and Sapphire? They didn't fuse for power or strength, that's why their fusion isn't bigger, like the fusion between the three Rubies. They fused for love, which is why their fusion is so much smaller than Opal or Sugilite.
