The kindergarten was a place where they made quartz, a warrior. Not expensive to make, but very good at fighting.
That's why Amethyst is so angry that she was made at the kindergarten. If it wasn't for her being late, she would've been on the other side. She would've been an enemy, but it was just by pure luck that she got out of it.
She thinks less of herself because she thinks she's less of Crystal Gem.
