I love that, during Steven's birthday party he's talking out loud and says 'When Connie grows up and becomes President, what is that going to make me? First Boy?' because he thinks, without really thinking, that, duh, Connie and Steven are going to be together forever.
Second, that Steven sees no problem with having a woman President, and while Connie's young, he actually believes that when she's older that she'll have the skills to run a whole country.
And third that Steven is starting to regret that he wasn't a normal human. As he grew up, he lived with his dad and the Crystal Gems, both of them making him feel normal, like he wasn't different. He knows that he has special magical powers from his Mom, and that he has a job to keep Earth and the humans that live on it safe, but, to Steven, Connie represents the best of being Human, and he's starting to find out that he might lose her just for being a gem and being different.
