Sophia POV:
The following day
Steph and I were so excited. One more day and we are out of here and into doing what we love. And that's playing soccer professionally.
All of our friends and family members were here.
They came to celebrate and hangout with us before we leave tomorrow.
My dad was in the backyard with Backy's dad and my grandpa from my moms side cooking carne Asada.
Everyone was everywhere. From the pool to inside to just bring in the backyard talking.
I was inside with my friends and my girlfriend by my side.
"This must be exciting for you 2 huh?" Hayley said to me and Steph
"Yeah we're pretty excited. Nervous at the same time."
"Just as long as I'm playing with my sister then everything will be okay." Steph said
All I could do was smile.
I never have thought that me and my best friend would be playing on a pro team together. I was so excited to be playing with her. We've dreampt about this since we were kids and for it to actually come true, its just something i wouldnt imagine happening.
"We'll be cheering you guys on here at home." Becky said
"Yeah we might not be there physically but were there watching you guys play." Paola said
"Thanks you guys. That means a lot to me and steph." I said
Steph and i looked at each other and just smiled. We had cups in our hands and next thing you hear is..
"Cheers to Sophia and Steph." Paola said while lifting her cup up.
We all then lift up our cups and say "CHEERS" together.
Hours later my dad gathers everyone in the backyard and we all are holding cups or glasses in our hands.
My dad stands on a chair that was from outside. We all stay quiet and listen to what he has to say.
"Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate this big day for Sophia and Stephanie. I feel like just yesterday sophia and steph met and became best friends right away." We all kinda laughed
"This has always been a dream to them. To play on the same team when they grow up. To play pro together. Now that dream is becoming reality. To me its something unexplainable. Id never thought dreams come true. Well now we realized that theyre dreams came true. Sophia, steph, were all here for you. Your guyses dreams are becoming reality. Im proud of both of you. You 2 really deserve to be on a team like this. Just know that i am your biggest fan. Cheers to Sophia and Steph." My dad said
"Cheers." We all repeated
"You wanna say something?" My dad asked me
I noded and headed towards the chair. He got down and i stood up.
"Man, i dont know what to say really. Im still speechless myself. I just have to say that im honored to be playing on this team with my best friend. Without her, i dont know where id be right now. I think without her i wouldnt be standing here making this speech. Like my dad said, this has been a dream to both me and steph since we were kids. I still cant believe this is happening right now. Steph isnt the only person i have to give thanks to. I give thanks to my parents and family members for supporting me through everything. Helping me to be better. For give me so much love and dedication. Have been there for me since i was born. To my teammates for making my soccer experience so much fun. I love everyone of you guys here. Thank you. Thank you for sticking by my side through thick and thin. I love you guys. Cheers." I said
