Negan pov

after daniels little stunt he pulled at the house, i am certain that i want nothing to do with him.

How could he call my wife a whore? And think he can get away with it? Hah funny.

Lucy is screaming in my ear in agony. My poor baby, she is in so much pain

"Just a little while longer baby, hang in there" i say trying to calm her down.

She looks to me with tears in her big beautiful eyes "just make the pain stop.."

I hold her hand and drive even faster to the hospital. As soon as we pulled in I made it an effort to get someone's attention, anyone's attention. They quickly checked her in, and my nerves are getting the best of me, my little girl is coming into the world, I just can't wait.

They have Lucy in a room right now giving her an epidural, which I do not blame her for getting one. Lucy is a strong women, but. This is like a next level of intolerable pain.

She is laying in the bed in a gown, her contractions are not far apart at all. The count down begins.

It has been hours, and Lucy still hasn't fully dilated yet, and the doctors are saying it's going to be awhile before she does. But her contraction are killing her, I just know it. It pains me to look over at her and know she is in so much pain, and I can't do anything about it.

She was In literal tears, and I knew she wanted this to be over. To be quite honest I did too. I wanted her to stop screaming, and crying. But while this was going on the doctors wouldn't even let me hold her, to calm her down. They were trying to keep her as clean as possible.

Earlier today keeps playing in my head, what I did to Daniel especially. I've decided that that man will have nothing to do with my child, nor my wife. He would be lucky if he can even speak to Lucy ever again.

Lucy's scream kicks me out of my thoughts, I look over to her and reach out my hand. She takes it and starts squeezing due to pain.

The doctor comes over to her and checks to see if she is ready, the doc looks back up at me

"Alright dad, it's time."

Those words hit me so fast. I quickly stand up from the chair "okay baby, it's gonna be okay.."

"I need you to push Lucy" the doctor says becoming impatient.

She nods and looks back to me "I love you"

"Love you too"

And with that she starts pushing..

I feel extremely nervous about being a father, since I really didn't have one of my own. Until this moment I didn't think I could love any other human being as much as I did my wife, but as soon as I saw my daughter being born all of this nervousness went away immediately.

My daughter is here, as soon as she comes out I fell in love with her. She was crying just as I was. I look over at Lucy who is smiling a very weak smile with me.

It's like all of what happened today really hadn't mattered, because my daughter is here now.

The doctor wipes her off and holds her, he looks to me and asks "would you like to cut the cord?"

I smile and quickly nod my head yes. I'm handed a pair of scissors and I cut.

After I cut, the nurse puts her into a pink fluffy blanket and hands her off to me. I carefully take the tiny baby into my large arms and look down at her. And for some reason as I'm smiling down at her, her crying stops and she tries to smile back at me.

It warmed my heart knowing I just created this person. She looks so much like Lucy, from her eyes to her facial appearance, she truly is a beautiful baby.

A tear rolls down my cheek and I look over at Lucy who looks like she is just dying to hold our little bundle.

"Got something in your eyes Negan?" Lucy's weak voice teased.

I laugh lowly and reach my baby gently out to Lucy.

She takes the baby Into her Arms and I knew in that moment that I would never Lay a finger on Lucy ever again. I will do everything in my power to protect my family.

"What's her name?" A nurse asks with a certificate.

I look to Lucy who seems to be looking at me

"Katherine Elizabeth" I state turning back to the nurse.

"What a beautiful name.. I'll be right back" and with that the nurse leaves.

I turn back to Lucy who seems to be enjoying little Katherine's presence.

"I'll be right back, gotta call your mom.." I pull on my jacket and look back at my two beautiful girls.

Just as if on cue, my phone starts to ring and it's her mother.

I step out of the room and answer the phone.
"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey.. Just checking in is she here yet?"

I choke up a bit "yes.. She's here."

I look up to see Clarissa and her girlfriend walk up to me, along with windy (Lucy's mother) I hang up the phone and give them each a hug.

"How's my sister doing?" Clarissa asks.
"She's great, labor was fairly easy.. Well for me."

I lead them back into the room so windy and Clarissa can hold her. I can tell that Lucy didn't want to let go of Katherine, but I insisted that she would let her mother hold her at least.

As soon as Katherine was in windys hands she fell in love

"she is beautiful Negan.."

She places a kiss on her forehead. Katherine giggles a little bit and it melts my heart.

Windy hands her off to Clarissa

"Do not drop her!" Lucy exclaimed kind of panicking.

"I won't, damn" she holds her tightly.

After several minutes of visiting they decided they would leave us be for the rest of the night, and they will be by tomorrow morning to check up on us.

We all said our goodbyes, and the worst part was that I had to say goodbye to Katherine too. They had to take her to the nursery, and as much as I didn't wanna let her go. I had to.

I look over to Lucy and smile

"We did it baby.."
