Chapter 27: Sakura-Chan

I woke up with a start. "Mayuki-chan," I yipped. Where was she. The last thing I remember was curling up beside her after she fell asleep.

I got up and walked in the bed, sniffing the sheets.

I am in so much trouble, and Sakura-chan is gonna get in trouble too. I looked over to the sleeping girl. Her bubble gum pink hair was sprawled everywhere, and a smile graced her lips every so often. She also mumbled the word 'sausage' a few times. Ohhhhh, I have to find Mayuki-chan or Sakura-chan and her family will be in trouble. My eyes widened, I'll be the one getting skinned.

My ears perked up when I heard a sound coming for the window. I looked over to find Mayuki and Sasuke by the window.

"Oh she is in soooooo trouble," I growled. How did she even get outside?

She opened the window and I immediately jumped onto her and began barking at her. I was told not to speak, but I was indeed scolding her in my kitsune language.

"Grey, shush, you'll wake Sakura-chan. Don't want her waking up to Sasuke in her..." she trailed off when she found that Sasuke was long gone.

I shook my head and licked her face.

I jumped out of her hand and grabbed her back pack. She needs to read her journal and the scrolls.

"My bag?" she asked. She then pulled out the pink book and flipped through it.

"Sasuke," she whispered. She continued to read, her dark blue eyes scanning over the pages at lightening speed. Then suddenly, she snapped the book shut. "I can't believe I forgot."

Sakura groaned and began to stir in her bed. She got up and rubbed her eyes.

"Morning, sunshine," said Mayuki with a smile on her face.

"Morning May..." Sakura let out a huge yawn. "Mayuki." She smiled and got up, stretching all the way back. "You ready for the chunnin exams today?"

"Oh but of course!" said Mayuki with a huge smile on her face.

"Let's get ready," said Sakura, while walking to her closet.

"Okay," said Mayuki as she put me to the side so that she can access the clothing in her back pack. She pulled out one of Haku's old Kimonos.

"You don't have any better clothes than that?" asked Sakura.

"What's wrong with this?" asked Mayuki while inspecting the mint green fabric in her hand.

"I mean, it's pretty and all, but you can't fight in that," said Sakura. She did have a point.

"You're right," said Mayuki, "But I don't have anything else to wear at the moment."

"Since you're my friend, you can borrow some of my clothes," said Sakura as she began to rummage through her clothes.

I'm glad that Mayuki-chan is making friends.

"Don't worry, we won't match," chuckled Sakura-chan. Mayuki blushed a bit. She pulled out a black and white version to her dress. "This was my cousin's. She grew out of them, and gave them to me."

She walked over to Mayuki, and grabbed her hand. "Let's take a bath."

"Together!" asked Mayuki as Sakura began dragging her to the door.

"Yes!" said Sakura. "I'll do your hair for you too!"

"Grey!" screamed Mayuki.

"Let's go Mayuki!" said Sakura before Mayuki came out of my sight.
