Chapter 16: The New Girl

Carl glared at me, but didn't utter a word... I stood up, still holding onto my wrist where he dug his sharp nails.
Tears were about to pour out, but I quickly wiped them away.
We both headed back to Rick and the others. I was greeted by Maggie.
"Hey..." She says, looking down at my wrist. "What happened?"
"Carl." I simply said before feeling some tears escape my eyes.
"I know... It's hard being in a relationship during the apocolypse, but I promise that it'll get better."
I looked up at her and she has a warm smile on her face, so I wiped my tears away and smiled back.
Rick told everyone to pack up, so we did.
We were on the road again... Or at least, the forest, that is...
We walked for a few miles until we spotted a few houses.
A few of us picked some houses. Maggie, Glenn and I were in one house, Carl, Rick, Michonne, and Judith next door, and the others got their own.
We were getting settled in until we heard a scream.
I ran out, seeing Rick and Carl with their weapons out.
I got my gun out and aimed it towards the trees, seeing a figure not too far away.
It was a girl!
The girl ran closer to us, and I could see that she has dark blonde hair.
Her bare arms and legs were covered in dirt...
A walker was limping after her, but then I heard a bang.
Rick shot the walker.
I saw the walker drop dead as the girl kept on running towards us.
She stopped when she was about two feet from us.
"Who are you?" Rick asked her.
The girl caught her breath and looked up at Rick. "Jennie." She says as she wipes some sweat from her brows.
"I'm Rick, and this is my son, Carl." He says as I walk over to them.
Rick looked over at me with a small smile. "And that's Enid." He says, looking back and pointing towards me.
I looked over at Carl and saw that he was looking at Jennie.
More like staring at Jennie...
He better not like her...
She better not like him...
Besides! I'm pregnant with Carl's baby! What could go wrong?
