Chapter 44: One baby, or two?

"How about, if you have twins, and it's a boy and a girl, the girl's name should be Kate, and the boy's name should be Chandler." Carl mutters, kissing me again.
I smiled and nodded. "Those are beautiful names."
I felt the baby, or babies, kicking again and I chuckled.
"Let's get something to eat..." Carl mutters, rubbing my stomach.
I nodded again as we both go over to the duffle bag and dug around in it.
I found some soft taco shells, cheese, and more cans of other food. Mostly peaches.
"Carl?" I began, looking over at him.
He looked over at me with a smile. "Yeah?"
"You still have that lighter, right?"
"You sat it down by the fire. Remember?" He asked, looking back towards the ash pile.
I nodded as he stands up and goes to the fire, picking up the lighter. He headed back over to me, handing me the lighter.
I sat the cheese on the soft taco shell and lit the lighter on top, just above the cheese, and watched it melt.
The cheese slowly melted, and I gave the lighter to Carl.
I rolled up the warm taco shell and began to eat.
Carl sat down next to me, putting an arm around my shoulder.
I laid my head on his shoulder as I felt something kick me inside my stomach.
I laughed. "I don't know if the baby wants more, or if it's done."
Carl gives me a small grin before kissing my head. "I think it's done for now."
We were quiet for a few seconds, then I spoke up again.
"Do you think we'll have one, or two babies?" I asked as Carl places his hands around my waist.
"I think we'll have twins, but we have to wait."
"How long?"
He shrugs. "Dunno... Many a few weeks or something."
