HARRY’S P.O.V.

“Baby girl, I want you to meet someone very special to daddy.”

Andy’s little head rolled on my shoulder to face Piper and I could see the emotion on Piper’s face. It was similar to what I was feeling. It felt so great to hold my daughter in my arms. Her little fingers clutched around my neck, one hand playing with the curls by my ear. Piper smiled brightly at Andy and walked closer to us.

“Hi, Andrea, I’m Piper. It’s so nice to meet you! Your daddy has told me so much about you.”

Andy pulled back and rested her hands on my shoulders, looking at me and then back to Piper with a shy smile. Andrea held a small hand up and waved, her face turning red.

“Hi.”

She giggled and buried her face in my shoulder again, hugging my neck tightly. My mum, Piper, and I chuckled lightly and I swayed back and forth, kissing the top of her head. My mum turned to Piper and put her arm around her.

“What should we do first?”

Andy’s head shot up and she bounced around in my arms.

“ICE CWEAM!”

“Baby, it’s nearly freezing outside. How about we make hot cocoa here instead?”

I didn’t want to let her down, but we really shouldn’t leave the apartment with so much attention on Piper and I. She nodded her head excitedly and I put her down on the ground so she could run into the kitchen. Her feet pattered on the wood as she ran and we all followed behind her as I draped my arm around Piper’s waist, pecking her lightly on the lips. I tried to push aside the reason we were in London and realized how happy I was to be with some of the most important people in my life.

PIPER’S P.O.V.

As the evening proceeded, Andy slowly warmed up to me and after her bath, she immediately ran to me and asked me to brush her hair. She climbed onto my lap and handed me the brush, holding a book in her hands. I combed through her damp messy curls that reminded me so much of Harry’s as she pretended to read me a story about a dog and a cat falling in love. I looked at the book and saw that it was really about sounds that animals make. Harry sat in the corner and chuckled, just watching us intently. I wondered what was going through his mind, because I was thrilled that Andy and I were getting along. Anne stayed around for a few hours, but left to meet Gemma at the hotel for dinner around seven. Harry ordered Chinese and made Andrea a grilled cheese, but then it was time to get her ready for bed. She was rubbing her eyes long before bath time because she woke up early from her nap.

“And then, the puppy and the kitty got mawwied and had babies and lived happily ever after.”

She shut the book as I finished her small braid and Harry clapped enthusiastically.

“Yay! Great story, Andy. You never told us their names, though!”

“Yes I did!” She lifted her hands in dramatic frustration, even though she never named her characters.

“I don’t remember them.”

She rolled her eyes and stood up, walking over to Harry.

“The puppy is called Daddy and the kitty is called Piper! Duh!”

Her attitude had me rolling in laughter, almost tipping over my glass of wine on the floor next to me. The way she said my name was precious, rolling her ‘r’ to almost sound like a ‘w’. She curled up in a ball on Harry’s legs and he rubbed her back softly. She let out a long, exasperated yawn and Harry picked her up, carefully lifting himself off of the floor.
