School ends uneventfully
with the exception of the buildup
of slow and tortuous anticipation
that I suffered through
for the remaining four hours. It's raining when I walk outside
the school yard is full of
parents and kids
their chatter raises above the rainfall
clear umbrellas bob up and down
like ocean foam
frothing and unraveling
between the gates and the playgroundI open up my own umbrella
hold it up with both my hands
and in seconds, Mei appears. She's grinning
The joyous stretch of her thin lips
contrasts with the grey atmosphere
Her hand grabs one of mine
and she's pulling me towards the
slides and swings and monkey bars
The anticipation bubbles up again
and I squeeze my eyes shut
praying
hoping
wishing
to hear Aunt Eevie's voice once more.****
Hello again! I hope you're enjoying the story so far! We're not nearly through the biggest parts of Harmony's life yet. There are still so so many things that she learns and goes through.
Either way, I wanted to do something interesting since StM reached 1K reads (!!!). I'm a very secretive person, I like my privacy. But I was thinking of maybe answering 3 questions about myself in the upcoming chapters?
If you have any random things you want to ask, drop them in the comment section and I'll answer 3 of them truthfully ≥﹏≤
