"Sometimes, in life,
the things we think are bad for usare actually good.
And the things we love, and think are good,
are bad."
Mother smooths her hand
gently
over my hair.
I haven't stopped crying since we got back.
Father will be taking Orsai to the airport
tomorrow.
"Orsai..."
Mother begins but changes her mind,
"It hurts now, sweetheart,
but please promise me something?"
I hiccup and burrow further
into the crook of her shoulder.
Promises are useless.
They're fragile and easy to break.
Pointless. Pathetic.
"Keep what I told you in mind.
And...
don't be too sad,
Orsai will be back before you know it."
"Does she have to go away?
Why can't she go to secondary school here?"I murmur into Mother's cardigan.
"It's for the best, darling.
It's for the best."
