closer than ever.
I still hadn't told her about
everything
but as we ate our lunch,
huddled close,
exchanging whispers in
a language just for us,
I knew that we'd always be close.
"Do you think
your mum would let you
come over?"
I paused...
my imagination assulted me,
it morphed Father's face
in anger and disbelief
but then I realized,
he wouldn't have to know.
"I'll ask."
