recap from part 8:

"Hey! Are you really Christine?!"

I froze, trying to figure out who the familiar voice belonged to. I haven't heard that voice for almost three years...It sounded just like my senior who told me he had to study overseas...Now, what's his name? Erm...oh yeah! It's Aldrin! Oh my god! Where is he? "Right here, little 'sister'!" I spotted him waving at me at the corner of my eye and, oh my, he's changed a lot...he now have a bigger build, paler skin, and at a closer look, he looked more muscular than two years ago...

Part 9

"Long time no see! Aw...! I love my 'sister'!" He cooed (to my embarrassment, some of the guys overheard and laughed) and he came over and hugged me tightly. We aren't blood siblings, but he's like an older brother to me since I joined badminton in my primary school about four to five years ago. That definitely is unforgettable for me, but...I still can't believe he's here! Two years had passed! And everyday in those two years I very desperately hoping that I would still be able to see my brother once again. Then we ended up in the same school! Weehee! It's gonna be fun with him around!

He pulled back after a while, then Blake came up and barked at me. "Hey bitch, don't ditch the line! Or you won't get your test and you'll get kicked off the school. But I sincerely hope you get kicked off real fast."

This is when Aldrin came and defended me. "Blake, you know what? It's rude for you to treat her like that. Come on, all of us are schoolmates, why even stab your own schoolmates at their back? We should help one another! Anyways, Christine, I know I'll be seeing you later. So...see ya!" He strode away to another direction where the others and I came from. Immediately Nick shepherded me back to the line, and Blake, after glaring at me furiously, went back to the head of the line beside the teacher. "Wow...you know that guy?!" Nick asked me in awe.

"Yeah. Why?"

"He's the first in all the third years. Remember what I told you on the plane? About having a 'competition' every end of the year to find out the top three of each level? He got the first without getting killed by someone else and he didn't even try to kill someone else! He's the first in a few decades to win the first without killing anyone or trying to kill anyone else. And he's such a gentleman! He defended you! And, yeah, Blake is the first among the second years, but I think he's a little afraid of Aldrin, not to mention that he knows not to offend or injure one of the school's 'treasure'. Aldrin wins first for badminton every year in every competition for the school on competitions with other schools from other places and last ear the headmaster declared that anyone who is against Aldrin means that the person is against the school, and the person will be expelled for good! Blake doesn't dare to go against because of this. Blake's father have high expectations of him and he isn't stupid enough to get himself expelled. You may think Blake deserves it, but then, he wasn't like this until he came back from the holidays. Once he's just like us, but we don't know what happened during the holiday that made him like this. He refuse to tell us what had happened and he's turned heartless and uncaring. The past him is just a piece of memory left. The new him...is like a cold inhuman stone wall. But then, it might be because..." Nick trailed off.

"It night be because of what?" I inquired eagerly.

"I think it's better not to tell you," his forehead creased.

"Come on, tell me!" I asked more eagerly. To add more effect, I grabbed his arm. Taken by surprise, he gasped. "Please?" I gave him the best puppy dog eyes I have.

"Ugh...Well, it may be because something happened during one of his match-making sessions...His father is thinking of using him to improve his business. You've heard of parents marrying their children off to other business partner's children to gain more status and profits in the business industry right? Blake's case is about the same, only that I don't know what had happened."
